Can You Be Detained Over Facebook!

From Alexandra

“Brandon J. Raub, a 26-year-old pro-liberty activist, former U.S. Marine, and Virginia  resident, was arrested after authorities  deemed his Facebook posts threatening…

“Without a warrant or recitation of his Miranda rights, Raub was handcuffed and taken into custody… The former Marine will undergo 30 days of evaluation at Salem VA Medical Center…

“The Oath Keepers, a non-partisan association  of law enforcement, first responders and veterans,  are outraged. They plan to rally in Raub’s defense, calling his detention a ‘Soviet style pre-crime detention’.”

In January 2012, two controversial pieces  of legislation were making their way through the US Congress. SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, and PIPA, the Protect Intellectual Property Act, were meant to crack down on the illegal sharing of digital media. The bills were drafted on request of the content industry, Hollywood studios and major record labels.

The online community rose up against the US government to speak out against SOPA, and the anti-online piracy bill was effectively killed off after the largest online protest in US history. But it was only one win in a long battle between US authorities and online users over internet regulation.

Painkillers and Male Reproduction Dont Mix!

Painkillers and Male Reproduction Dont Mix!

By Hwaa Irfan

Recent research has come up with more specfic causes for Crytochidism, or undescended testicles. However, it is less to do with the painkillers that males take, but more to do with the painkillers that pregnant mothers take, because Crytochidism occurs when the male reproductive organs are inside the body. In recent times that problem was taken care of by surgery, but the result is reduced male fertility.

Researchers from France, Finland, and Denmark found that taking more than one mild painkiller (e.g. ibuprofen, aspirin, and paracetamol) during pregnancy increases the risk of Crytochidism 7-fold. They also found that the risk increased with each succesive trimester. Painkillers taken in the

  • 2nd trimester doubled the risk

More than one type of painkillers taken in the 2nd trimester ncreased the risk 16-fold.

What to Do!

Many pregnat women are unaware of the risk, because they do not consider painkillers as medication/drugs. They think they are solving a small twinge/ache/pain, but they are unknowingly blocking what their bodies are trying to tell them. The following are safe for pregnant women, and are worth including in one’s emergency kit.

Naturopathy

Backaches – after correcting bad posture try dried raspberry leaf tea. It also reduces muscle/leg cramps.

Headaches – try dandelion tea

Inflammation – Ginger is also a very useful anti-inflammatory. Two grams of fresh powdered ginger take into three does relieves acute pain, and 1g taken in three doses daily for chronic pain.

Groins – Homeopathic remedy, Bellis perennis for severe pain in their groin in the last trimester, when the pain suddenly comes on while walking  making it difficult to walk. This is due to the stretching of the ligaments and nerves of the uterus and a single dose of Bellis perennis causes the pains to pass quickly this time and helps prevent their recurrence.

Joint pains –Eat 3g of fish oil daily– contains 3 fatty-acids (omega-3, EPA, and DHA) that prevent inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, gout, and sinusitis.  It also reduces drug intake

Pain relief general– White Willow Bark more affective than aspirin contains salicylic acid and acetyl salicylic acid, which is the organic form of aspirin. However, it should not be underestimated, therefore should not be taken by children under 16 years of age. It should also be avoided by those with gastritis/ulcers.

Sciatica  – St. John’s Wort. As modern allopathic medicine tries to find more and more ways to push natural remedies out of our thinking so that our budget will serve it the pharmaceutical industry, bear in mind the following findings from Canadian research in 2006. Research team led by Dr. Dugoua:

The researchers found varying levels of scientific evidence on the efficacy of use for different conditions; low-level evidence of harm during pregnancy; and strong evidence of side effects during lactation. As St. John’s wort interacts with a number of medications due to its effect on cytochrome P450 enzymes, this may account for some of the findings. However they urged on the side of caution during pregnancy.

GMO Labels: The West May Not Insist, but Brazil Does!*

GMO Labels: The West May Not Insist, but Brazil Does!*

By Anthony Gucciardi

It appears another victory has been declared in the battle against Monsanto and GMO ingredients. According to a major Brazilian business publication and GMWatch, a Brazilian court has demanded that multi-billion dollar food giant Nestle label all of their products as genetically modified that have over 1% GMO content. The ruling reportedly coincides with Brazilian law which demands all food manufacturers alert consumers to the presence of GMOs within their products.

Perhaps even more shocking is the fact that the court exposed a deep relationship between the Brazilian government and a major food industry lobby group that was forged in an effort to stop the court from issuing the ruling. This of course is predictable when considering that not only does Monsanto have a massive amount of political power with a figurehead in multiple branches of government, but when considering the previous WikiLeaks report that detailed how those who opposed Monsanto and biotechnology would be subject to ‘military style trade wars’.

The WikiLeaks documents revealed just how closely Monsanto has been working with the United States government, and just how serious the U.S. is about ensuring that the corporation’s GMO crops are widely accepted across the globe.

Amazingly, the Brazilian court took a stand against this corruption. Instead of groveling to Brazilian officials and mega biotechnology groups, the Brazilian business wire reports that the court determined the Brazilian government to be illegally working with the food industry entity known as ABIA. Furthermore, the court stated that consumers have the basic right to know what they are putting into their mouths — especially when it comes to GMO ingredients.

The court issued a fine of $2,478 per product that was found to violate the ruling after finding the presence of GMO ingredients in Nestle’s strawberry “Bono” cookies.

Other nations have taken similar actions against Monsanto and GMOs as a whole, with Poland banning Monsanto’s GM maize and Peru passing a monumental 10 year ban on GMOs as a whole. In the United States, the government continues to ignore and deny the concerns surrounding genetically modified crops and ingredients, instead streamlining the approval process for Monsanto’s new modified creations.

Libya: Post-Qathafi a Nightmare*

Libya: Post-Qathafi a Nightmare*

By Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey

Congratulations to William Hague, Hillary Clinton and the sickening little wannabe Napoleons who rule France these days, desperately trying to claw back some international prestige after the French language has dived down the plughole into the sewer. Let us compare Gaddafi’s Libya with FUKUS Libya.

Gaddafi’s Libya: if you wanted to study, the Government paid for it. If you wanted to study abroad, the Government financed it. What dictator educates his people, what dictator educates his people for free?

If you needed healthcare, the Government provided it, for free.

Black Libyans lived together with white Libyans, around 700 different peoples and tribes and sub-tribes cohabited the area formerly called Tripolitania, Cyrenaica and Fezzan in peace, living in the people’s communes reporting their needs through the people’s councils to central Government which distributed wealth and provided for their requirements. This was called the Jamahiriya system.

The Government provided a house, the Government provided a job, the Government provided a car, the Government provided a wedding present of some 50,000 USD and the Government provided for basic needs, including food.

The Government also heavily subsidised transportation and staple items, provided farmers with land and seeds and tools. The Government even injected money directly into people’s bank accounts.

Gaddafi’s Libya sponsored the African Union finding African solutions for African problems and questions, by Africans and for Africans, Gaddafi financed the African satellite system which provided e-learning for the African continent, Gaddafi financed the satellite system which provided tele-medicine facilities to all Africans.

Gaddafi planned many African initiatives which freed 700 million people from the yoke of debt to western institutions.

And what have the FUKUS countries given Libya and Africa in return?

A growing AQIM (Al Qaeda in Maghreb), ethnic cleansing against black Libyans, hatred among tribes and sub-tribes, a Balkanization of Libya…

Women’s rights spiraling into nothing, women being raped, women having their breasts sliced off in the street, girls being sexually abused, boys impaled with stakes, terrorist gangs running amok in towns and villages.

Al Qaeda in control of parts of Libya – congratulations, because Qathafi was the first international politician to put an arrest warrant out for this group. A growing number of explosions and car bomb attacks have been attributed to Al Qaeda. Gangs of thieves, murderers and psychopaths who used the “Revolution” to escape from prison are marauding around the country doing as they please. Kidnappings and theft, robbery, rape, murder and torture are now rife.

Qathafi’s humanitarian and developmental aid and projects have ceased.

And William Hague, Hillary Clinton and the sickening little Napoleons will say the Libyans are better off? Ah right, they’re “free”. Ha! They aren’t even free to walk down the road to buy a loaf of bread. And hey presto! Africa is back in the grip of western institutions again.

Nice one, NATO, nice one… Chuckle smugly and look over your shoulders. Karma time’s a-coming!
