The GM Ban List is Getting Longer!
By Hwaa Irfan
Food has become the easiest means of selling us anything, and we’ll swallow it, because it tastes good! Lost to the senses, is the amount of junk that constitutes ‘food’ because of the instant gratification it gives us. Removed from our thoughts is the illness/disease we are experiencing that emanates from the overpriced junk we eat. Yet one man was able to cure himself from cancer by simply changing his diet closer to what the Creator designed our bodies for. Playing with the Laws of Nature and the balance it brings has become the preoccupation of the failing establishment to our own detriment because man likes to play god for big bucks with mankind and its environment as the experimental ground. However there is a point when the accumulating evidence refuses to be ignored any longer!
Life is life, ad what affects one form of life affects anther, though maybe not in the same way, or same intensity in the short term, but in the long term . . . watch out!
As Monsanto, Sygenta and others have woven their wealth into the power framework that influences food policy, the wealth not health of consumers and the earth governs a decision-making even though those decision-makers would not touch GM food with a barge pole. Real food is gambled upon via the stock market pushing its prices out of reach of the common man, woman and child who then becomes dependent upon junk food, disguised as real. Then there are the farmers who bear witness to what they have been conned into, turning fertile land barren, and their livelihood at stake . . . the real wealth of any nation. But this is of no concern to the EU which has just recently given the go ahead to establishing GM crops in the EU. This comes after France banned GM crops and foods in 2012, along with Polish bee keepers demand for a ban which took place.
The day after the EU gave the go ahead, which came into effect on January 1st 2013, Poland banned GM strains of maize and potatoes, which comes into affect n January 28th 2013! That ban is on German BASF’s Amflora strain of potato and US firm Monsanto’s MON 810 maize/corn by means of a legal loophole.
GM crops had in fact been banned in Poland up until November 2012, but the Senate approved registration and sale of GM crops, but Prime Minister Donald Tusk found hope on behalf of the people!
Countries that have banned GM crops to date are:
- New Zealand
As well as Washington State, and Nova Scotia , US.
