Non-Compliance Stops California’s RFID Tracking Plans for Drivers

Non-Compliance Stops California’s RFID Tracking Plans for Drivers

e8dff-68408_489345344421177_9856419_nIt began in 2012 when school students and parents revolted against not just being electronically tagged – a case of personal sovereignty, but also an issue of health.

RFID used radio frequencies from the electromagnetic fields to transfer data, which can be done using batteries/local power source or can be powered by the electromagnetic fields themselves. They transmit data in the form of a serial number of an object/person that is unique to them.

RFIDs emit radio waves, which the user’s body absorbs as exampled by the affect they have on pacemakers. and is questioning how prolonged exposure to EMR might affect patients. There was enough concern in 2008 over open American passports embed with RFIDs which was felt could trigger a bomb! On May 31, 2011, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified radiofrequency fields as “possibly carcinogenic to humans.”

Yet there is an agenda to implant them into our lives!

A state frightened f its own citizen will do macabre things, as exampled by the recent Egyptian massacres.

The first Trojan horse has been health – ‘to monitor the health of patients’ it is said, but the recent case of the 8 year old Yemeni boy Barq, demonstrates how helpful RFIDs can be. Barq was given an RFID tag to put on his surrogate father, who was killed by drones two days later. The RFID tag helped the drones to identify their target.

In the US school students and parents opted for non-compliance which led to a failure in increased school attendance, the carrot to encourage a massive take up amongst the population.

Because of  non compliance California lawmakers have recently suspended legislation to place RFID tracking chips in ID’s and drivers licenses.

Because of citizen non compliance with this idea, California lawmakers have recently suspended legislation to embed RFIDs, or radio-frequency identification chips, in its state identification cards and driver’s licenses.

S.B. 397 was put on hold by the state Assembly Appropriations Committee, despite it having been approved by the California Senate, where it will probably be re-introduced in months unfortunately.

So far, 4 other states have used radio-frequency identification devices already, in passports, school identification cards, and eventually bar-code labels on consumer goods.

It is quite scary one might say, how the states Michigan, New York, Vermont and Washington have already begun embedding drivers licenses with these. The most suspicious part may be the fact that they are linking them to a national database controlled by the Department of Homeland Security. They are trying to incentivize people to use them, by calling them ‘enhanced’ cards that can be used to re-enter the U.S. at a land border instead of a passport.
The DHS, who are trying to purchase over a billion hollow point bullets, thousands of tanks and automatic weapons right now for ‘training’ says the RFID chip “will signal a secure system to pull up your biographic and biometrics data for the CBP officer as you approach the border inspection booth” .

This is just another way that the death grip of the state is desperately trying to hold onto control of us citizens, before we go to war for the dollar of the American Empire, and the Federal Reserve.

Trillions Wasted the US has been and Remains in Depression*

moneyblackholeWhatever immediate benefit there is in turning Syria into another Iraq will be short-lived as that  of Iraq, Libya. The assumed long-term benefit is to sustain a global economy which is based on the natural resources of the Middle East; bring Syria’s Central Bank under cabal control  so that all of the world’s natural and human resources flow from the base of the global economic pyramid. Only this time, citizens of the world will not benefit an iota, hence the massive centralization of health, education, natural resources, gender and sexuality, civil liberties, employment (themiddle class has become a dwindling entity), and housing. The US, like Europe and supporting nations have drunk their well dry blocking the natural flow!

The facts are now becoming abundantly clear, that the forecast we’ve maintained for well over two years has been validated: the US is in a DE-pression and both Washington and the Federal Reserve have wasted trillions of Dollars.

The reality is that what’s happening in the US today is not a cyclical recession, but a one in 100 year, secular economic shift.

See for yourself. Here’s duration of unemployment. Official recessions are marked with gray columns. Bear in mind that the Feds measure unemployment based on people looking for work, so if you stop looking, you no longer count as unemployed and this number will fall.

Even with this accounting gimmick, the average duration is still at 35 weeks.

Here’s the labor participation rate with recessions again market by gray columns:

Another way to look at this chart is to say that since the Tech Crash, a smaller and smaller percentage of the US population has been working. Today, the same percentage of the US population are working as in 1978.

Here’s industrial production. I want to point out that during EVERY recovery since 1919 industrial production has quickly topped its former peak. Not this time. We’ve spent literally trillions of US Dollars on Stimulus and bailouts and production is well below the pre-Crisis highs.

Here’s a close up of the last 10 years.

Again, what’s happening in the US is NOT a garden-variety cyclical recession. It is a STRUCTURAL SECULAR DEPRESSION.

And those who claim things are improving are going by “adjusted” AKA “massaged” data. The actual data (which is provided by the Federal Reserve and Federal Government by the way) does not support these claims at all. In fact, if anything they prove we’ve wasted money by not permitted the proper debt restructuring/ cleaning of house needed in the financial system.

The newest item designed by Adam Harvey, an artist with a background in mechanical engineering, and Bloomfield, a fashion designer, is called OFF Pocket, a metallic-fiber pouch designed to block all wireless signals to your phone. Johanna Bloomfield calls it a “privacy accessory.”

The OFF Pocket is a phone case that blocks all wireless signals from entering and exiting the case.

To use the OFF Pocket simply place your phone inside the case and close it. Your phone is now OFF. Untrackable. Unreachable. Unbreachable.

The OFF Pocket has been extensively tested on all major networks, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. It is compatible with all mobile phone hardware including but not limited to iPhones, Android, Blackberrys, Nokia as well as all modern phone operating systems.

The OFF Pocket uses the principle of a faraday cage to block all radio signals from entering and exiting the case. Your phone contains an antennae that communicates with cell towers and GPS systems. Both of these signals, radio waves in the 2.4GHz spectrum, are blocked by the metallized fabric in the case.

For the next month, it will sit alongside other examples of counter surveillance chic from Harvey’s company, PRVCM, in a “privacy gift shop” at New York’s New Museum.

Harvey and Bloomfield’s first collaborative project, Stealth Wear, a line of futuristic looking street wear that shields the wearer from thermal imaging cameras, debuted this January at the fashion boutique Primitive London. Stealth Wear was more of a “provocation” than a consumer fashion line, Harvey says, designed to make people aware of how invasive thermal imaging could be, and the sort of counter-measures that would be required to block it.

Recently, he was approached by a U.S. official–Harvey wouldn’t say what agency the official represented–who wanted to use photos of Harvey’s work in a classified document; the official wouldn’t say what the document was about.

“That was the impetus behind this installation,” says Harvey.

“I want the work I’m doing to be as accessible as possible, so I thought, what better way to do it than to make a gift shop.”

OFF Pocket is their most mainstream product so far. At $100, it’s more affordable than the $450 scarf on display at the gift shop (rainbow colored on one side, in the pallet of a thermal image, and heat-signature-masking metallic nylon on the other). Nor is it so unusual looking that it would make you stand out on the street while hiding you from surveillance.

“We really envision the OFF Pocket as one of the most commercially available products,” says Bloomfield, imagining future collaborations with stores and artists, like the limited edition silver OFF Pocket on sale at the New Museum.

Harvey’s first prototype was sewn into his pants–hence the “pocket” in OFF Pocket. He was concerned about the lack of control we have over our phones.

“You have to agree to the way you use [your smart phone] when you agree to terms of service, and it’s very unclear about how much information is being tracked and recorded about you, though it’s clear information is being tracked and recorded wherever you go, whenever your phone is on.”

With lengthy powering off cycles, people are reluctant to turn off their phones, Harvey says, and even if they wanted to, it’s becoming harder to do. In order to cut down on boot-up time, developers are designing phones that keep some of their electronics active even when powered down, a semi-active state that can be exploited for surveillance.

It’s so hard to tell when your phone is truly off–even removing the battery might not be enough, as some phones have built-in backups–that Edward Snowden asked his guests to put their devices in his hotel refrigerator. (Harvey tested the OFF Pocket against a refrigerator and a martini shaker, which can also be used to block wireless signals in a pinch, and found that it performed far better than either.)

Drones, Harvey says, were the proxy we used to talk about privacy. Then, just as Harvey and Bloomfield were finalizing their OFF Pocket Kickstarter fundraiser, Snowden released the first of the NSA documents.

“I called Johanna and said, we need to get this up and running right away,” Harvey says.

That Kickstarter campaign raised $56,000, exceeding their $35,000 goal. “Public awareness is important,” says Bloomfield, “and phones are in right now.”
