The Energy we Pick up Unknowingly*

The Energy we Pick up Unknowingly*

A biological research team at Bielefeld University has made a groundbreaking discovery showing that plants can draw an alternative source of energy from other plants. This finding could also have a major impact on the future of bio-energy eventually providing the evidence to show that people draw energy from others in much the same way. Members of Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse’s biological research team have confirmed for the first time that a plant, the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, not only engages in photosynthesis, but also has an alternative source of energy: it can draw it from other plants.

The research findings were released this week in the online journal Nature Communications published by the renowned journal Nature. Flowers need water and light to grow and people are no different. Our physical bodies are like sponges, soaking up the environment.

“This is exactly why there are certain people who feel uncomfortable in specific group settings where there is a mix of energy and emotions,” said psychologist and energy healer Dr. Olivia Bader-Lee.

Plants engage in the photosynthesis of carbon dioxide, water, and light. In a series of experiments, Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse and his team cultivated the microscopically small green alga species Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and observed that when faced with a shortage of energy, these single-cell plants can draw energy from neighbouring vegetable cellulose instead.

The alga secretes enzymes (so-called cellulose enzymes) that ‘digest’ the cellulose, breaking it down into smaller sugar components. These are then transported into the cells and transformed into a source of energy: the alga can continue to grow.

‘This is the first time that such a behaviour has been confirmed in a vegetable organism’, says Professor Kruse. ‘That algae can digest cellulose contradicts every previous textbook.

To a certain extent, what we are seeing is plants eating plants’. Currently, the scientists are studying whether this mechanism can also be found in other types of alga. Preliminary findings indicate that this is the case.

“When energy studies become more advanced in the coming years, we will eventually see this translated to human beings as well,” stated Bader-Lee.

“The human organism is very much like a plant, it draws needed energy to feed emotional states and this can essentially energize cells or cause increases in cortisol and catabolize cells depending on the emotional trigger.”

Bader-Lee suggests that the field of bio-energy is now ever evolving and that studies on the plant and animal world will soon translate and demonstrate what energy metaphysicians have known all along — that humans can heal each other simply through energy transfer just as plants do.

Human can absorb and heal through other humans, animals, and any part of nature. That’s why being around nature is often uplifting and energizing for so many people,” she concluded.

Here are five energy tools to use to clear your space and prevent energy drains while releasing people’s energy:

Stay centered and grounded. If you are centred within your spiritual self (instead of your analyzer or ego) you will sense right away when something has moved into your space. If you are fully grounded, you can easily release other people’s energy and emotions down your grounding cord with your intention.

Be in a state of non-resistance. What we resists sticks. If you feel uncomfortable around a certain person or in a group, don’t go into resistance as a way to protect yourself as this will only keep foreign energy stuck in your space.

Move into a state of non-resistance by imagining that your body is clear and translucent like clear glass or water. This way, if someone throws some invalidation at you, it will pass right through you.

Own your personal aura space. We each have an energetic aura surrounding our body. If we don’t own this personal space we are vulnerable to foreign energy entering it. Become aware of your aura boundaries (about an arms length away from your body all the way around, above and below) as a way to own your personal space.

Give yourself an energy cleanse. The colour gold has a high vibration which is useful for clearing away foreign energy. Imagine a gold shower nozzle at the top of your aura (a few feet above your head) and turn it on, allowing clear gold energy to flow through your aura and body space and release down your grounding. You will immediately feel cleansed and refreshed.

Call back your energy. When we have our energy in our own space there is less room for other’s energy to enter. But as we focus on other people and projects we sometimes spread our energy around.

Create an image of a clear gold sun several feet above your head and let it be a magnet, attracting all of your energy back into it (and purifying it in the gold energy).

Then bring it down through the top of your aura and into your body space, releasing your energy back into your personal space.

Alien Abductees or Mind Control Experiments?*

Alien Abductees or Mind Control Experiments?*

We should be thankful that ‘abductees’ have had enough common sense to explore the ‘experience’ further’ – a lingering question that was portrayed in the last episode of X-Files. So much money and resources poured into fooling the common man not only to create the kind of threat to human-kind that would send us running to the real abductors in order to submit to the NWO, but to hide the extent to which they are experimenting on the human mind in order to learn how to control it.

By Jack Brewer

Former self-described alien abductee Leah Haley has revised her perspectives about her experiences of high strangeness to conclude that no alien abductions ever took place in her life. She now completely attributes her remarkable perceptions to having been an involuntary research subject. Commenting on literal alien abduction from her home in Pensacola, Florida, Haley stated, “It doesn’t happen.”

Haley attracted widespread attention within the UFO community in 1993 with the publication of her book, Lost Was the Key, in which she described her extraordinary experiences consisting of fragmented memories of UFOs and apparent non-human beings. She became a well known speaker and was commonly sought for interviews. Ten years later she published Unlocking Alien Closets: Abductions, Mind Control and Spirituality, further documenting her descent into an increasingly complex web of deceit, disinformation and character assassination within ufology. Sales of her books climbed well into the thousands although word of mouth was virtually the only means of marketing.

Haley initially thought aliens were responsible for her experiences but that changed following years of investigation. She long acknowledged military personnel were involved in her experiences to some extent, but she fully re-evaluated circumstances after viewing select Freedom of Information Act and U.S. Patent Office documents. Haley further based her revised conclusions on hundreds of interactions with abductees and researchers, as well as having mysterious individuals enter and later abruptly vanish from her life. She is now thoroughly convinced mind control experiments are responsible for what became known as the alien abduction phenomenon.

“I really can explain every alien abduction away using human technology,” Haley said.

Commenting on what she termed “legitimate” reports of abduction, she continued,

“I don’t know for sure, but every case that I know very, very well – every single one of them – if I probe deeply enough, I’m going to find that there were humans here and there too. That tells me that it was a human-instigated situation. I can’t think of a single case, not a single one that I’ve really delved into that didn’t have humans in it too, so I just don’t think alien abductions are happening. I don’t know, but I just don’t think they are.”

Who Is Leah Haley?

The polite yet confidently direct woman who came to be embraced – for better or worse – by the UFO community said she was born in 1951 in Decatur, Alabama. According to her books, Haley earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Alabama, a master’s degree in education from the University of North Alabama and a master’s degree in business administration from Mississippi State University. She told me she is a Certified Public Accountant, currently employed in the field.

I first contacted Haley via email in June of 2009 due to my interest in her reported experiences which involved apparent military personnel. Our interactions led to me interviewing her over the course of a couple days in March, 2011.

As much an artist as she is a business administrator or anything else, Haley loves to write. She enjoys many forms of art and particularly appreciates theatre. While the name Leah Ann Haley will be forever joined with the UFO phenomenon, the woman came to prioritize a healthy social life and enjoying herself, as was indicated by the presence in her den of gifts from her birthday celebration. “If I put the gifts away, I’ll forget to send thank you notes,” she explained with a laugh.

During a drive through downtown Pensacola, she fondly pointed out locations where bands regularly perform. She enjoys concerts, and told me about attending a Lynyrd Skynyrd gig, remarking that she of course likes the band’s music due to her roots in (Sweet Home) Alabama.

Haley developed a strong faith which she attributes in part to her traumatic experiences and the stress of going public with her story. She enjoys attending casual worship services held Sunday mornings at picnic tables on Pensacola Beach. “I think that’s so cool,” she said while describing the services.

Her first marriage ended as she became increasingly committed to investigating her experiences and publicly sharing her findings. Was her involvement in ufology responsible for her failed marriage? “Oh, yeah,” she responded decisively, “absolutely.” Her status as a relatively high profile, controversial figure severely strained family relations, but Haley feels she picked up the pieces as well as could be expected.

Take her or leave her, Leah Haley is willing to be scrutinized. Other high profile members of the UFO community often hide from objective evaluation, reciting their largely unchallenged rhetoric with relentless and annoying persistence. Contrastingly, Haley at least seemingly provides us with a refreshingly transparent view of the path of an experiencer of high strangeness who embarked upon a sincere journey of investigation and self-discovery. It is only natural that such a journey included evolving perspectives, changing over time, and it appears Haley happens to be secure enough to tell us when she changes her mind.

“The most important thing about my case,” she said, “is that my memories were of alien abductions, and that after spending thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars and years and years and years of research trying to find evidence that alien abductions occurred, the only evidence I found is of human-instigated mind control.”

Circumstantial Evidence

Haley cited circumstances such as confirmed mind control operations and Freedom of Information Act documents, substantiating details of such black budget operations, as supporting evidence for her perspectives. Suggesting the general population lacks adequate understandings of relevant issues, such as conditioned behavior and subliminal programming, Haley stated, “Doing my lectures and radio shows I met people all over the country, and most of the alien abductees just accept what’s happened at face value. What they remember – to them – is what happened. Very few of us have ever questioned it to the extent that you and I obviously have.”

Haley cited U.S. Patent Office documents, demonstrating evolution of electronic technology and non-lethal weapons that correlates with the time line of reports of alien abduction. Advances in technology during the 20th century included using electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) to remotely entrain brain waves, induce altered states of consciousness and transfer an otherwise inaudible voice directly into the brain. Overexposure to EMFs was documented to cause hallucinations, nausea, short term amnesia (missing time) and reddened skin, circumstances which became staples of abductee testimonies.

Haley has claimed to have been interrogated and tortured by military personnel, but do not expect her to name alleged perpetrators. Though much speculation has circulated about Haley’s alleged abusers, she is well aware she cannot prove accusations and therefore chooses to withhold public comment on identities.

She also claimed to have been approached repeatedly by mysterious people interested in her experiences, and on at least one occasion such a person apparently claimed to be acting on behalf of intelligence officials. Haley believed she confirmed the claim to a reasonable extent.

Comment: Haley makes an interesting point regarding the presence of humans in these scenarios, if we can take these ‘probings’ into the phenomenon seriously (no pun intended). However, her logic is flawed. The presence of humans does not directly imply human instigation. If all reports of alien abduction contained dogs, that would not imply dog-instigated abductions.

Marc Davenport

Haley met Marc Davenport at the 1993 Ozark UFO Conference. He attended her lecture and approached her afterword, finding her presentation of interest. Like Haley, Davenport was a researcher, author and speaker.

The two discovered many mutual interests. They eventually married and plunged ever deeper into the world of ufology. The duo spent extended periods of time conducting research and presenting their work through Greenleaf Publications, a corporation founded by Haley in 1992 and subsequently jointly operated by the couple. It was with Davenport’s help as a researcher and support as a friend that Haley dissected the world of military intelligence and black budget research projects.

She explained, “It was like a progression with me until I finally came to the conclusion that everything with me was human-instigated. That’s where the evidence pointed. I didn’t find any concrete evidence – no absolute concrete evidence – of aliens, but plenty of evidence of human intervention.”

Such evidence included two events reportedly occurring the morning of June 16, 2000. Haley experienced abduction-like visions, non-ordinary states of consciousness and the sensation of hearing voices in her head. Haley was home alone during the second episode, which also included paralysis. Davenport returned unexpectedly, observing a helicopter hovering within 100 feet of their house. The helicopter soon departed, leaving Davenport to find Haley ill and disoriented inside the home.

It was therefore not only Davenport’s help as a colleague, but also his experience as a direct witness, that assisted Haley in re-evaluating her experiences. Davenport continued to report on mind control and non-lethal weapons.

In 2005 Davenport was diagnosed with what Haley called an unusual form of cancer. He lost his life to what proved to be the painful and disabling illness.

Does Haley think Davenport’s cancer was intentionally induced? “I will go to my grave believing so,” she said.

Carpenter Affair

Haley’s experiences included missing time, disturbing body markings and a retrieved possible implant, in addition to interactions with mysterious strangers and military personnel. Her search for answers included regressive hypnosis sessions conducted by John Carpenter, a mental health counselor who served as the MUFON director of abduction research during the early 1990’s. For what is in all likelihood a variety of reasons, Haley’s mental imagery during the sessions included implications of aliens and emotional trauma.

Carpenter conducted some 14 regressive hypnosis sessions with Haley, encouraging her to accept alien abduction, before selling her case file. In what became known as the Carpenter Affair, Carpenter betrayed 140 clients and alleged alien abductees when he accepted $14,000 for their case files. The purchaser was Robert Bigelow, whose activities and associates never stray far from controversy. Non-lethal weapons expert and consultant to the CIA, Colonel John B. Alexander, was termed a science advisor to Bigelow at the time.

When asked how she now feels about Carpenter, Haley took a long breath and exhaled deliberately. She replied that she thinks Carpenter was “manipulated” into his actions, but that does not mean she completely absolves him of all responsibility.

Haley explained it was very distressing when the names of Carpenter’s clients were briefly posted on the Internet. Literally over night, anonymity was lost, family members were outed and similar such situations befell those who sought support and were assured confidentiality by Carpenter and MUFON. Haley remains uncertain exactly who was responsible for originally posting the client names on the Internet.

Haley said most of the 140 probably never knew Carpenter sold their files to Bigelow. About a dozen of them were aware of it and convinced Haley “to join them in the lawsuit that turned out to go nowhere,” she explained with frustration.

Would she rather not discuss the Carpenter Affair? “I don’t mind talking about it,” she said. “It’s just that the statute of limitations expired.”

“We had a clear cut case,” she continued. “The first attorneys said, ‘There are no doubts.'”

Haley explained the attorneys initially met with the plaintiffs, assuring them testimony and evidence, which they had, was all they needed. However, the first group of attorneys later turned over the case to a second group, and lines of communication declined to a non-functional mess. Haley felt certain the lawsuit fell through the cracks “because of threats.”

In a bit softer and more despondent voice, Haley concluded, “There’s not anything that can be done about it. That whole group just got away with it.”

Matters of Compassion and Responsibility

Haley long since stopped fearing public criticism. Such criticism is inevitable when revising opinions destined to be as unpopular as in the case of suggesting there are no aliens in alien abduction. Rather than buckle to peer pressure, Haley appeared willing to draw on her experience as a relatively public figure – and her resulting thick skin – to set examples of honesty and realism by publicly acknowledging perspectives are simply bound to change as more information becomes available.

Haley considered sharing her story to be matters of compassion and responsibility. “It disturbs me greatly that there are people who are still being victimized by that system,” she commented.

Perhaps it is ultimately Haley’s ability to successfully navigate the no-nonsense world of accounting that enabled her to painstakingly re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about alien abduction and her experiences. Maybe it was a genuine desire to seek truth. I really cannot say for sure, but Haley’s message is certainly clear enough: A check and balance of facts versus belief systems reveals alien abduction dogma does not properly add up, particularly in her specific case.

Haley said she periodically distanced herself from ufology and her past but kept getting “drawn back in.” She explained she was most recently drawn back in by me and what she found to be my interest in black budget operations and her case. I thanked her for her willingness to interact with me, then asked what was most important to her to ultimately accomplish.

Without hesitation, Leah Haley leaned back in her chair, looked skyward and replied with animated emphasis, “I want mind control and other invasive experiments on unwitting U.S. citizens to be stopped. And I want the mind control perpetrators brought to justice!”

As for alien skulls all shaped like E.T., some African tribes practiced cranial modification…

Circa 1970.Mbombio, Chief Mogendo’s principal wife, Medje village …

Earliest written records of cranial modification dates to 400 BC in Hippocrates’ description of the Macrocephali or Long-heads, who were named for their practice of cranial modification. The practice can be found amongst indigenous Australians, Mayans, and certain North American tribes. – http://hiddenunseen.blogspot.com

Early examples of intentional human cranial deformation predate written history and date back to 45,000 BC in Neanderthal skulls, and to the Proto-Neolithic Homo sapiens component (12th millennium BCE) from Shanidar Cave in Iraq. It occurred among Neolithic peoples in SW Asia – http://x0chipilli.blog.siol.net/2012/02/13/artificial-cranial-deformation/

How the British Empire aka New World Order Sowed Seeds of Destruction towards Islam*

This is the obvious conclusion given their footprints are embedded in the nightmare they have worked so hard for so long, but there may be more to this simple conclusion especially the key role that the Rothschild dynasty has played and the template used to colonize ALL continents… Far too many Muslims have fallen for their social engineering and the reinventing of Islam, simply because they have never studied Islam holistically, and of course power corrupts absolutely… Certain leaders in the Middle East reflect the same agenda with a passion which might lead one to question their true identity.

Note the author (1825) is familiar with Islamic terminology, just as Israel and the CIA are today.

Queen Elizabeth with King Saud, believed to be descended from Jewish merchants

The “Masonic Jewish Conspiracy” is the British Empire which has now morphed into the New World Order. Hempher’s Confession of a British Spy (c. 1825) reveals that turmoil in the Middle East has deep imperialist roots. As early as the 1700’s, the “British” were using cultural subversion to colonize Muslims. Similar social engineering tactics, characteristic of Communism, are used to colonize Western society today. (Communism is Masonic, i.e. Cabalist, Jewish Satanism.) Read Hempher’s list and see how many tactics you recognize.
Anti Semitism is a red herring and a diversion. The head of the octopus is the “Crown” i.e. the shareholders of the Bank of England and the world’s other central banks.

Hempher says the British exploited a society’s vulnerabilities. They sponsored the Shiite and the Wahhabi sects to divide and destabilize Islam. They planted Freemasons as phony religious teachers and traitorous statesmen:

“We were designing long term plans to wage discord, ignorance poverty and even diseases in these countries. We were imitating the customs and traditions of these countries, thus easily concealing our intentions.”  The goal was and remains to, in Cecil Rhodes’ words, “absorb all the riches of the world.”

Remember this was written around 1825!

  • Very important! Alienate children from their fathers, thus depriving them of their elders’ education. We shall educate them. Consequently, the moment children have parted from their fathers’ education, there no longer will be any possibility for them to maintain contact with their belief, faith, or religious scholars.

  • Provoke the womenfolk to get rid of their traditional covers. Fabricate such falsifications as “Covering is not a genuine Islamic commandment. It is a tradition established in the time of the Abbasids. Formerly, other people would see the Prophet’s wives and women would join all sorts of social activities.”

  • 3- After stripping the woman of her traditional cover, tempt the youth towards her and cause indecencies between them! This is a very effective method for annihilating Islam. First use non-Muslim women for this purpose. In the course of time the Muslim woman will automatically degenerate and will begin to follow their example.

  • 4 – The following vices must be done secretly or publicly: Alcoholic spirits, gambling, fornication, pork, [and fights among sports clubs.] In doing this, Christians, Jews, Magians, and other non-Muslims living in Muslim countries should be utilized to a maximum, and those who work for this purpose should be awarded high salaries by the treasury department of the Ministry of the Commonwealth.

  • Promote racism and nationalism among Muslims so as to make them rebel against the Ottomans.

  • Sow suspicion among them concerning Jihad; convince them that Jihad was a temporary commandment and that it has been outdated.

  • Remove the notion that “disbelievers are foul” from the hearts of Shiites. Quote the Koranic verse, “As the food of those given a (heavenly) Book is halal for you, so is your food halal for them,” and tell them that the Prophet had a Jewish wife named Safiyya and a Christian wife named Mariya and that the Prophet’s wives were not foul at all.

  • Imbue Muslims with the belief that “what the Prophet meant by Islam’ was ‘a perfect religion’ and therefore this religion could be Judaism or Christianity as well as Islam.” Substantiate this with the following reasoning: The Qur’an gives the name ‘Muslim’ to members of all religions. For instance, it quotes the Prophet Joseph (Yoosuf ‘alaihis-salaam’) as having invoked, “Kill me as a Muslim,” and the Prophets Ibraaheem and Ismaa’eel as having prayed, “O our Rab (Allah)! Make us Muslims for Yourself and make a Muslim people for Yourself from among our off-spring,” and the Prophet Ya’qoob as having said to his sons, “Die only and only as Muslims.”

  • Confuse Muslims about the hadiths, “Deport the Jews from the Arabic Peninsula,” and, “Two religions cannot coexist on the Arabic peninsula.” Say that “If these two hadiths were true, the Prophet would not have had a Jew wife and a Christian one. Nor would he have made an agreement with the Najran Christians.”

  • Exploit every opportunity to put an end to performing namaz in jamaa’at by casting aspersions on the imams in mosques, by revealing their mistakes, and by sowing discord and adversity between them and the jamaa’ats (groups of Muslims) who perform their daily prayers of namaaz behind them.

  • Under the pretext of love of freedom, convince all Muslims that “Everyone is free to do whatever he likes. It is not fard to perform Amr-i-bi-l-ma’roof and Nahy-i-anil-munkar or to teach the Islamic principles.”

  • In order to impede Muslims from increasing in number, births must be limited and polygamy must be prohibited. Marriage must be subjected to restrictions. For instance, it must be said that an Arab cannot marry an Iranian, an Iranian cannot marry an Arab, a Turk cannot marry an Arab.

  • Pious institutions must be restricted and confined to the State monopoly, to the extent that individuals must be unable to establish madrasas or other similar pious institutions.

  • Arouse doubts as to the authenticity of the Qur’an in Muslims’ minds; publish Koranic translations containing excisions, additions, and interpolations, and then say, “The Qur’aan has been defiled. Its copies are incongruous. A verse one of them contains does not exist in another.” Excise the verses insulting Jews, Christians and all other non-Muslims and those commanding Jihaad, Amr-i-bi-l-ma’roof and Nahy-i-anil munkar. Translate the Qur’aan into other languages such as Turkish, Persian, Indian, thus to prevent Arabic from being learned and read outside Arabic countries, and again, prevent the (Ad-haan), (Namaaz), and (Duaa) from being done in Arabic outside Arabic countries.

In the book, a British spy named Hempher, working in the early 1700s, tells of disguising himself as a Muslim and infiltrating the Ottoman Empire with the goal of weakening it to destroy Islam once and for all. He tells his readers: “when the unity of Muslims is broken and the common sympathy among them is impaired, their forces will be dissolved and thus we shall easily destroy them… We, the English people, have to make mischief and arouse schism in all our colonies in order that we may live in welfare and luxury.”
Hempher intends ultimately to weaken Muslim morals by promoting “alcohol and fornication,” but his first step is to promote innovation and disorder in Islam by creating Wahhabism, which is to gain credibility by being on the surface morally strict. For this purpose, he enlists “a gullible, hotheaded young Iraqi in Basra named Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab”. [4] Hempher corrupts and flatters Wahhab until the man is willing to found his own sect. According to Hempher, he is one of 5,000 British agents with the assignment of weakening Muslims, which the British government plans to increase to 100,000 by the end of the 18th century. Hempher writes, “when we reach this number we shall have brought all Muslims under our sway” and Islam will be rendered “into a miserable state from which it will never recover again.

Kathleen Maitland-Carter, Trnn Producer: Last fall, on the day after a lone gunman shot and killed a young soldier on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, Prime Minister Stephen Harper seized the opportunity to set the stage for the Conservative government’s anti-terrorism bill, C-51. There had been another attack two days before near Montreal by a self-proclaimed jihadist.

CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER STEPHEN HARPER: For the second time this week there has been a brutal and violent attack on our soil. We will not be intimidated. Canada will never be intimidated. In fact, this will lead us to strengthen our resolve and redouble our efforts, and those of our national security agencies, to take all necessary steps and keep Canada safe here at home.

MAITLAND-CARTER: Some had a prescient response to the Prime Minister’s post-shooting statement.

GLENN GREENWALD: I think we’ve become much more susceptible to the kind of fear-mongering that the Canadian government is already engaged in, that Western governments uniformly engage in, to manipulate our emotions, to get us to acquiesce to things like what Prime Minister Harper calls greater police powers of surveillance, detention, and arrest.

Maitland-Carter: The days and months passed, and more was learned about the Ottawa gunman. That although he was a recent convert to Islam, he also suffered from mental health and drug addiction issues, that he acted alone and had no affiliation with any radical Islamist groups in or outside the country. On January 30th, 2015, Prime Minister Harper unveiled his new anti-terrorism bill, C-51, which in many respects resembles the so-called anti-terrorism legislation passed by the U.S. government after 9/11.

HARPER: Jihadist terrorism is not a future possibility, it is a present reality. Violent jihadism is not just a danger somewhere else, it seeks to harm us here in Canada, in our cities, and in our neighbourhoods. Through horrific acts like deliberately driving a car at a defenceless man, or shooting a soldier in the back as he stands on guard at a war memorial.

Maitland-Carter: Critics, including four former prime ministers, legal, security, and intelligence experts have gone on record to say that among the other concerns of granting Canadian spy agencies broad new powers, the lack of oversight in the proposed bill is especially alarming.

Edward Snowden, National Security Agency Whistleblower: Canadian intelligence has one of the weakest oversight frameworks of any Western intelligence agency in the world. And when they’re trying to expand their powers, you know, it’s pretty amazing. But I would say we should always be extraordinarily cautious when we see governments trying to set up a new secret police within their own countries. When they’re asking for intelligence authorities, intelligence powers, which is to say extraordinary powers, to be used in new means particularly related to political ideologies, radicalization, influence on governments. And how people develop their politics, which governments refer to nowadays as radicalization. We need to be very careful about this.

Maitland-Carter: March 14th was designated a national day of action, with reported seventy actions taking place across the country, from St. John’s, Newfoundland; to Winnipeg, Manitoba; to Victoria, British Columbia. The largest gathering took place in Toronto, with thousands of people gathered to protest the pending Bill C-51.

Pamela Palmater, Mi’kmaq Lawyer, Professor: Bill C-51 is very complicated, but it’s also very simple. Any activity, any activity, by anyone in this country, that purports to threaten economic stability, territorial integrity, diplomatic relations, even, will now be a terrorist act. Every one of us will be a terrorist. But it’s on every single one of us to stop this from happening.

They have failed to obtain our free, informed, and prior consent, which is a violation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. It’s also a violation of Section 35 of our constitution, which protects our Aboriginal treaty rights, and which requires the free information, consultation, accommodation, and consent by First Nations on any legislation that will impact us, and they simply didn’t do that, so it’s starting off as an illegal document before it even gets to Parliament.

Maitland-Carter: There are concerns about the different ways in which Bill C-51 would criminalize civil liberties.

Paul Copeland, Human Rights Lawyer, Order Of Canada: In my view it’s probably the most dangerous government piece of legislation enaction since four hundred people were arrested under the War Measures Act in 1970.

Luna Leloup, Rally Organizer: Journalists, as well, are going to be heavily impacted by this. Anybody that criticizes any involvement that Canada has anywhere else in the world. Dissent is basically becoming illegal, if this bill passes.

Syd Ryan, Ontario Federation Of Labor: The definition within this legislation of terrorism is interfering with the financial stability of the economy, or interfering with infrastructure. Well let me tell you, my friends, that’s the definition of illegal strike. And that’s the definition of the working class, what we used, [that was] what we used, my friends, to advance the well-being and the standard of living of all Canadians. And I can tell Stephen Harper, right from the labour movement in Ontario, that we’ll be damned if we stop striking in this province. I don’t care what piece of legislation you bring in, my friends, [inaud.] legal strikes.

Elizabeth May, Green Party Leader: This bill will make it much more dangerous for those of us who oppose pipelines, absolutely. The RCMP is referring to us as anti-petroleum idealogues. Yes, it’s a problem. Stephen Harper has conflated petroleum with patriotism. I think we know the difference. [inaud.] depends on getting all the [inaud.]

Interviewer: Is your sign true?

Walter Draper, Rally Participant: Oh yeah, no, it’s true. In 2001-2003, there was over sixty-one deaths by moose-related incidences, and really, like, I cannot, I can’t really think of one serious terrorist offense that has happened in Canada. There might have been the one at Parliament, so that’s one guy, right? So sixty-one to one. And that’s just, in, like, 2001-2003.

Josephine Grey, Human Rights Activist: Why don’t you look at the real threat to Canadian security? The real threat is climate change. Why don’t you talk to the Pentagon? They said the biggest threat is climate change. And who is the biggest climate change driver of all? Harper himself.

~

Maitland-Carter: A poll published in February showed that 82% of Canadians supported Bill C-51, while another poll published last week suggests that public support for Stephen Harper’s anti-terrorism bill is dropping, with only 45% of those surveyed saying they would support it, and 61% said they oppose allowing security services to infiltrate and track indigenous and environmental activists.

The bill may well become a wedge issue in the upcoming October federal election. While the New Democratic Party and the Green Party have spoken out against it, the Liberal Party, currently ahead in the polls, have come out in support of it.

~

Justin Trudeau, Leader Of The Liberal Party Of Canada: Matters of national security should be beyond partisanship. We will take a constructive approach to improving this bill. Liberals welcome the measures that build on the powers of preventative arrests, make better use of no-fly lists, and allow for more coordinated information sharing by government departments and agencies.

Linda Joy Mcquaig, Author And Social Critic: The Liberal position is that oh, they’ll do something with it later. That is just insufficient. I mean, we absolutely need to stand up and fight against it. This is about really basic, fundamental liberties.

Riaz Sayani-Mulji: Islamophobia is a growing problem in Canadian society, but the Conservative Party is not alone in ostracizing the Muslim community. Remember, it was also the Liberal Party who voted for Bill C-51.

Palmater: On March 24th I’m going to be testifying before the Public Safety and National Security Committee, specifically on Bill C-51 and what my concerns are with it. And I’ll be presenting my legal concerns, the lack of oversight, overly broad, violates all of our charter rights. But also that it violates Aboriginal treaty rights, and that it will and has always targeted indigenous peoples, wrongfully so. The other issues I’m really going to bring up is the long history of the lack of oversight of state police forces and surveillance forces, and how indigenous peoples have suffered from that. We’ve died at the hands of police, and we also, and still are, monitored by the police. Wrongfully so. We’re clearly not terrorists. When people show up and dance and drum and sing to protect the environment, that’s no terrorist threat to anybody.

Mcquaig: And you can see already that the Harper government is out to get what they call the anti-petroleum movement, which is really the movement to save the planet. And they’re already, they’ve already [inaud.] every progressive group, basically, in the country, but with a particular focus on the environmental ones. People concerned about climate change. And this is just giving them carte blanche. C-51 will just open the gates to far more interference and harassment on the part of the RCMP and CSIS. It’s a dangerous, dangerous thing.

Leloup: The whole process has been completely undemocratic. You’ve see the Conservatives trying to push this through with very little debate and with very little concern for what academics and legal experts are saying about this bill. It’s a complete disregard. We’re not having this discussion, what’s happening is un-Canadian, and I just simply disagree with it. And we need to exercise our rights while we still have them, or else they’re just privileges.

GMO ‘Expert’ and Lobbyist Freaks out When Offered a Glass of Monsanto to Drink*

French television station Canal+ recently sat down with Dr. Patrick Moore for an upcoming documentary. Dr Moore, who claims to be an ecological expert and is currently the front-man for Ecosense Environmental, stated to the interviewer that Monsanto’s weed killer Roundup was not responsible for skyrocketing cancer rates in Argentina.

This is where the interview took a turn for the surreal.

Dr. Moore insisted that Roundup is safe to drink, at which point the interviewer did the only logical thing one could do in that situation. He offered the doctor a glass of the weed killer to allow him an opportunity to back up his statement. The following is the text from that exchange.

Dr. Patrick Moore: “You can drink a whole quart of (Roundup) and it won’t hurt you.”

Canal+: “You want to drink some? We have some here.”

Moore: “I’d be happy to, actually…. Uhh…Not.. Not really. But I know it wouldn’t hurt me.”

Canal+: “If you say so, I have some glyphosate, have some.”

Moore: “No. I’m not stupid.”

Canal+: “So, it’s dangerous, right?

Moore: “No, People try to commit suicide with it and fail; fail regularly.”

Canal+: “Tell the truth, it’s dangerous.”

Moore: “It’s not dangerous to humans.”

Canal+: “So, are you ready to drink one glass?”

Moore: “No, I’m not an idiot. Interview me about golden rice, that’s what I’m talking about.”

Canal+:  “We did.”

Moore then abruptly ends the interview by calling the host a “complete jerk” and storms off.

Greenpeace, an organization to which the doctor turned lobbyist belonged in the 1970’s, issued this statement in part in 2008 regarding Dr. Patrick Moore.

Patrick Moore often misrepresents himself in the media as an environmental “expert” or even an “environmentalist,” while offering anti-environmental opinions on a wide range of issues and taking a distinctly anti-environmental stance. He also exploits long-gone ties with Greenpeace to sell himself as a speaker and pro-corporate spokesperson, usually taking positions that Greenpeace opposes.

While it is true that Patrick Moore was a member of Greenpeace in the 1970s, in 1986 he abruptly turned his back on the very issues he once passionately defended. He claims he “saw the light” but what Moore really saw was an opportunity for financial gain. Since then he has gone from defender of the planet to a paid representative of corporate polluters.

Patrick Moore promotes such anti-environmental positions as clear-cut logging, nuclear power, farmed salmon, PVC (vinyl) production, genetically engineered crops, and mining. Clients for his consulting services are a veritable Who’s Who of companies that Greenpeace has exposed for environmental misdeeds, including Monsanto, Weyerhaeuser, and BHP Minerals.

U.S. soldiers and military contractors sexually abused at least 54 children between 2003 and 2007, according to a report commissioned by the Colombian government and the FARC.

“There is abundant information about the sexual violence, which occurred under absolute impunity because of the bilateral agreements and the diplomatic immunity of United States officials,” said Renan Vega of the Pedagogic University in Bogota, who helped write the report.

Vega detailed a case in 2004 in which military contractors sexually abused 54 girls and filmed [the abuse] and sold the films as pornographic material. The families of the victims received death threats and the victims fled the central Colombian town of Melgar.

The report also reveals that in 2007 U.S. Arrmy Sergeant Michael J. Coen and defence contractor Cesar Ruiz drugged and raped a 12-year-old girl inside their military base. Prosecution officials were not allowed to arrest the alleged rapists because of the immunity agreements between the U.S. military and Colombia. Coen and Ruiz were flown out of the country and were never indicted in the U.S.

The victim and her family were forced to flee from the region because people linked to the suspects were threatening them.

“In 2006 there were 23 reported cases of sexual abuse committed by active American soldiers and another 14 in 2007.”

The 800-page report was commissioned by the government and the FARC rebel group to ascertain the causes and breadth of the 50-year internal conflict as part of the historic peace talks between the two sides.
