Muslim Charities Are Helping To Raise Money for Burned Black Churches In The US*

Muslim Charities Are Helping To Raise Money for Burned Black Churches In The US*

By Louis Doré

Eight black churches have been burned down since the Charleston shootings, and Muslim charities have succeeded in their goal to raise $20,000 in an effort to rebuild them.

At the time of writing the project, launched last Thursday, has raised $21,688 (£14,000) from 495 contributors, making the mean donation in the region of $44.

A statement on the fundraising page said:

All houses of worship are sanctuaries, a place where all should feel safe, a place we can seek refuge when the world is too much to bear.

We are calling on you to help add our support to faith communities across the country pooling their resources to rebuild these churches.

As Muslims we know the importance of protecting the vulnerable and respecting people who call on God in their various tongues.

We must always keep in mind that the Muslim community and the black community are not different communities.

We are profoundly integrated in many ways, in our overlapping identities and in our relationship to this great and complicated country.

Three of the church burnings have been ruled arsons and the others are still under investigation.

“They’re being investigated to determine who is responsible and what motives are behind them,” FBI spokesman Paul Bresson told BuzzFeed News.

Kenya’s New Wind Farm Contributing to Country’s Energy Needs*

Kenya’s New Wind Farm Contributing to Country’s Energy Needs*

By Ari Phillips

Last week Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta broke ground on a major renewable energy project for the country and for the African continent as a whole: a 310-megawatt wind farm some 300 miles north of the capital city of Nairobi. The farm, which will consist of 365 turbines when fully completed in mid-2017, will be the largest in Africa — overpowering Morocco’s Tarfaya wind farm, currently Africa’s biggest project with 131 turbines. It is also expected to provide around 17 percent of Kenya’s power demand.

Known as the Lake Turkana Wind Power project, the wind farm will be spread across 162 miles in a part of the country that receives steady wind all year. Due to the availability and consistency of the wind, the load factor of the wind farm — the average level at which overall installed capacity is used — is expected to be about 62 percent. Many European wind farms have load factors that are less than half of that, and the global wind power load factor was estimated to be 22.7 percent in 2012. The high capacity of Kenya’s project will allow the wind power generators to sell the electricity for a cheaper price than many other countries.

The project, which is expected to cost $690 million, is being financed by a group of European and African investors such as the European Investment Bank and the African Development Bank. It is the largest single private investment in Kenya. The undertaking has already been delayed several years due to the lack of transmission lines to link the remote area to Kenya’s electricity grid.

Currently wind power accounts for about one percent of the country’s total power generation, a number that is expected to rise above 10 percent by 2017.

“We can expect the Lake Turkana Wind Power project to bring change gradually,” Kenya Power’s Benson Muriithi told CNN earlier this year.

“As demand for electricity grows, we will see electricity generated from wind turbines play a more important role in Kenya’s and reduce power costs in the country.”

Sub-Saharan Africa has been advancing rapidly since 2000, with the region’s economy doubling in size by 2013. Energy demand in the region grew by around 45 percent over the same period. Even so, some 630 million people, or two-thirds of the population, still lack access to electricity. Large wind projects like the new one in Kenya will help fill this gap over the coming decades. A recent report by the International Energy Agency determined that renewable energy will make up almost half of sub-Saharan Africa’s power generation growth by 2040.

Over the next three years, Kenya hopes to add 5,000 megawatts of power to its grid, an ambitious target that will take installed capacity up from 1,700 megawatts in 2013 to 6,700 megawatts by 2017. Aside from wind and solar power capacity, Kenya is rich in hydropower and geothermal energy sources. The country recently installed a 280-megawatt geothermal plant — one of the world’s largest. Geothermal recently overtook hydropower as the single largest electricity provider in the country.

Just as the Lake Turkana Wind Power project is breaking ground, Kenyan developers are already planning a larger 400-megawatt wind farm, with two financiers — France’s Development Agency and Germany’s Development Bank — visiting Kenya this week to assess the project.

Senior ISIL Commander Flees to Turkey*

Senior ISIL Commander Flees to Turkey*

A senior commander of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group fighting against the government forces in Deir Ezzur province, Eastern Syria, fled to neighbouring Turkey.

“Amer al-Naklavi nicknamed Abu Mohammad fled Deir Ezzur into neighbouring Turkey,” local sources told FNA on Saturday.

Al-Naklavi was commander of Jund al-Rahman terrorists group in the Eastern parts of Deir Ezzur province.

Jund al-Rahman has confisicated revenues of several oil wells in Deir Ezzur province.

On Wednesday, a team of Syrian army’s Special Forces raided a meeting of the ISIL commanders in an inside job and killed tens of the militants’ leaders.

At least 40 ISIL terrorist leaders were killed during the army’s raids on their gathering in al-Quriya district of al-Mayadeen city in Deir Ezzur province in Eastern Syria.

According to the military sources, the operation was the result of an inside job by the Syrian spies.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.

Ready for Deployment around the World: Operation Talisman Sabre

Ready for Deployment around the World: Operation Talisman Sabre

By Gary Franchi

Scheduled at just the right time, as the global economy trembles because nations of the world are defaulting on debts from the international banking cabal… as the militaries of the world prepare for the inevitable call to war.

As Randolph Bourne said, “War is the Health of the State” and the only way out of the impending global economic collapse is to feed the war machine fresh bullets and fresh bodies.”

Friends, Jade Helm 15 officially goes live in a few weeks. It will span 10 US states. Nearly simultaneously, from July 4th through the 19th, several thousand miles away, more than 33,000 United States and Australian military personnel will be engaged in Operation Talisman Sabre.

This show of military power comes at a time when tensions with China over their man-made naval stations in the South China Sea are reaching a steady boil.

Early last month, China concluded “Crossing 2015, a full scale live fire military exercise deep in the Mongolian desert.

And wouldn’t you know… At the exact same time Talisman Sabre 2015 goes live with Jade Helm 15 – China has issued a warning – complete with naval coordinates – for all navies to steer clear of their latest live fire exercises in the south China Sea.

China is more than ready – and making sure the world knows.

Talisman Sabre will deploy 21 ships, including the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS George Washington, more than 200 aircraft, and three submarines.

But it isn’t limited to just the Pacific region multiple locations WITHIN the U.S will host manoeuvres, Pearl Harbor, San Diego, Virginia and Guam; and multiple locations WITHIN Australia near Shoalwater Bay.

That’s not all… they’re calling this a “whole-of-government effort” as it includes participation from international organizations like the World Food Programme and the United Nations.

As if that’s not enough US Federal law enforcement is getting in on the action as the FBI joins the U.S. Departments of State (DoS), Justice (DoJ) and Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the American Red Cross.

In 2011 Talisman Saber included Amphibious assault landings, Tank warfare training, and urban combat scenarios, paratrooper drops and more.

The military says “Talisman Sabre is a realistic and challenging exercise that brings service members closer and improves both nations’ ability to work bilaterally, and prepares them to be poised to provide security regionally and globally.”

Friends, 33,000 military personnel are deploying into the Pacific to train for war, global economic collapse is on the horizon yet nothing from the state controlled media?

Don’t you find that odd?

Israel Considers Full Annexation of Sinai*

Israel Considers Full Annexation of Sinai*

Israel Considers Full Annexation of Sinai*

By Anthony Bellchambers

Such an aggressively expansionist move, ostensibly to deter political unrest on its southern border – which runs from Rafah to Eilat – but in reality an effort by the Netanyahu administration to become a hegemonic power in the region, would be strongly opposed by the U.S., Britain and Russia and the entire UNSC.

In an action that would inevitably instigate a full scale regional conflict involving Egypt, ISIL, Hezbollah and Israel, this latest expansionist thinking by the Netanyahu government could well bring about a paradigm shift in Middle East geo-politics and global groupings.

It has been recognised for some years that Netanyahu’s Likud policy of illegal settlement would inevitably lead to war at some stage but a forced annexation by Israel of the entire Egyptian Sinai Peninsula was never envisaged.

Such a crude military action would immediately sever relations between Egypt and Israel leaving Jordan as Israel’s only diplomatic connection in the entire Middle East. And that would leave America’s vassal state virtually isolated within a political environment determined to force its relocation by any means at any cost. An invidious situation that would be construed as being self-imposed by a right-wing Knesset intent on illegal expansion at the expense of the indigenous peoples of the area and in contempt of the wishes of the United Nations General Assembly.

Any attempt by the Netanyahu government to colonise Sinai would greatly exacerbate the current global perception of Israel as an undeclared nuclear weapons state intent on achieving Middle East hegemony in an existential hostile action against the historic indigenous peoples of the region. And that would be an explicit threat to world peace and global stability.
