CIA “Journalist” Spy with Al-Qaeda Arrested In Turkey*

CIA “Journalist” Spy with Al-Qaeda Arrested In Turkey*

Lindsey Snell / Facebook

On August 9 we reported here on a U.S. spy, Lindsey Snell, who worked with Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria and was arrested when crossing the border from Syria into Turkey:

The Turkish military recently “rescued” a CIA spy who was wounded in the north Latakia region of Syria. The U.S. send helicopters to help its asset. The spy turned out to bejournalist Lindsey Snell working on a report with Nusra for the intelligence outfit Vocativ. She was put into Turkish jail for illegally crossing the border.

There is no doubt from the available information that Snell was a spy. The Turkish media call her such. She was with Nusra, not for the first time, had some trouble and needed to get out. The U.S. military launched a huge operation to help her. That is not the treatment a real journalist would get.

Three weeks after our report some professional journalist finally picked up on the story and asked during the U.S. State Department briefing:

QUESTION: Do you have any information about a U.S. citizen who was arrested in Turkey?MR KIRBY: Who was arrested in Turkey? Yes. I can confirm that U.S. citizen Lindsey Snell was detained in Turkey on the 7th of August, 2016. She is currently being held in a prison facility in Hatay Province. I believe that’s how you say it. Consular officers from the consulate in Adana visited Ms. Snell most recently on the 26th of this month and are providing all possible consular assistance. The embassy and the department are following this case closely. State Department officials have been in contact with Turkish Government officials regarding this case.

QUESTION: […] was the arrest at all related to her profession as a journalist or in any case – any way associated with that?

MR KIRBY: What I – what we understand is that she has been charged with violating a military zone, but I can’t speak to her reasons for being in Syria, for travelling there. I can’t speak to that. What I can tell you is that we’ve been informed she was charged with violating a military zone.

The State Department “can’t speak of” what Snell did in Syria – twice. Why? Is that secret? Note that Kirby does not even call that “U.S. citizen” a “journalist”, even while his keyword provider calls her such.

Despite the reluctance of the State Department to call Snell a journalist the main stream “western” media, picking up from the State briefing, now calls her such and does not mention that Snell is obviously a spy. The BBC, CBS and NBC have reports of the issue. But none of those reports touches on the very weird circumstance of Lindsey Snell’s “rescue” and “arrest”. None of them will tell you you that she was a spy.

NBC goes the furthest by digging up another State source and quoting the Hatay regional governor:

“A State Department official said the U.S. government was aware of Snell’s presence in Syria and that helping her to get to a safe location was the agency’s consistent and overriding goal. U.S. personnel were dispatched to the Turkey-Syria border to support Snell’s safe exit from the war-ravaged country but Snell was subsequently detained by Turkish authorities, the official said.

Hatay’s governor, Ercan Topaca, told the state-run Anadolu Agency:

“A U.S. journalist was captured while she was trying to cross the border illegally; she was taken to court and remanded. The trial phase is ongoing. For now, we do not know if she is a spy or not.”

NBC  just mentions that “U.S. personnel were dispatched”. That sounds like a bureaucrat drove to the border to help the “journalist” to enter Turkey. But that “U.S. personnel” consisted of two armed drones and several military helicopters which flew in the area over several days while the ex-filtration of Snell was ongoing. Has anyone ever heard of any journalist for whom the U.S. military would launch such an extensive operation? The Turkish media had made no secret of what happened.  As Hurriyet reported on August 7:

“A female intelligence agent from the United States has been saved by Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) soldiers after a two-day operation on the Syrian border, according to a report.Drones and helicopters participated in the operation to save the agent, who had been wounded in Syria. Two U.S. helicopters landed in a village in the Yayladağı district of the southern province of Hatay on Aug. 5, prompting locals to call officials and report the landing.”

Is there any real freelance “journalist” who embeds with Jabhat ql-Nusra and for whom the U.S. would “dispatch U.S. personnel” in the form of helicopters and Hellfire armed drones? No. It is obvious that there was some very “special interest” for Snell and unlike the usual “western” media Hurriyet has no problem reporting that:

“[T]he U.S. agent, whose name was not revealed as she was on a confidential operation, was assigned to a task in Syria and wounded on Aug. 3, after which she called for evacuation. She reportedly sent her coordinates to U.S. officials, allowing them to determine her exact location.

Two U.S. drones scanned the area for two days, as two U.S. helicopters were on standby on the Turkish side of the border.”

Snell was picked up by Turkish agents and arrested for crossing the border unauthorized. The Turkish intelligence service MIT will dislike any U.S. spy who tries to get involved with one of its bests assets in Syria, Jabhat al-Nusra aka al-Qaeda.

The Turks want to keep Nusra under their own control. Even after making nice with Russia Turkey continues its nefarious relations with the U.N. designated terrorists. According to the Russian military Turkey is up to today supplying Nusra in Idleb and Aleppo:

“We see that the opposition in general and Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham in particular keep receiving enforcements through the Syrian-Turkish border […]” Rogachev told RIA Novosti.

The mainstream “western” media must be intentionally holding back on the case of agent Lindsey Snell. None of them mentions the use of U.S. helicopters and drones with regards to the “journalist”. The governor of Hatay had confirmed their extensive use. Isn’t such a use of military assets extraordinary? The facts about the “rescue” are openly available and have been reported by serious Turkish media. Why leave them out? Why let the cover-up stand?

I would have expected more inquisitiveness and concern from CBS, NBC and from the BBC about the “journalist” cover the CIA uses for this agent.

There is an official ban on the CIA use of “journalist” cover for foreign operations since 1977. There are of course exceptions and whoever expects the CIA to stick to regulations or laws needs some lessons in reality perception. Still, any such use by the CIA makes the life of real journalist more difficult and more dangerous.

One would expect of serious media and real journalists to point that out, to raise some public hell with the CIA and to generally show more concern about the issue.

The Syrian army and Hezbollah, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have expelled Al Nusra Front terrorists and their allies from the Armament College and the Artillery College and nearby buildings at the Ramouseh Artillery Base in south-western Aleppo. This move allowed the pro-government forces to set a full control of the road between Khan Tuman and the Ramouseh Neigbourhood and besiege the militant-controlled areas of Aleppo city for the second time this summer.

Various pro-militant sources, including the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, also confirmed that the Syrian army and its allies are in control of this strategic area.

Buildings inside the Ramouseh Artillery Base:

Last few hours, the pro-government forces were entrenching themselves in the Ramouseh Artillery Base in order to prevent any chances to re-gain this area by militants. Few moments ago, Al Nusra terrorists, supported by various units of the Jaish al-Fateh operation room, launched a counterattack in order to regain positions in the artillery base. Clashes are ongoing.

If the pro-government forces are able to repel the terrorists’ counter-attacks, they will likely continue their advance, attacking the Hikma School and the northern part of 1070 Apartment Project. Then, they will likely advance in the Ramouseh Neighbourhood. These moves will allow the Syrian government to control successfully the perimeter of the besieged militant-controlled areas.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi pro-government militia “Haraket al-Nujba” has captured of the Khan Tuman depots near the strategic town of Khan Tuman in southern Aleppo. Separately, Jaish al-Fatah militants have reportedly withdrawn from the town of Qarassi.

Angela Corey’s weak prosecution team allowed murderer George Zimmerman to get off after killing Trayvon Martin

By Nadia Prupis

Reviled Florida State Attorney Angela Corey lost her re-election bid on Tuesday night, prompting widespread celebration as the woman The Nation once suggested was “the cruelest prosecutor in America” was ousted.

“Corey’s loss is an encouraging sign that the public will no longer tolerate overzealous and unprincipled criminal prosecutions, including women and children,” University of Miami law professor Mary Anne Franks said in a statement.

Corey, whose eight-year tenure in Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit Court saw her charge 77 children as adults in 2016 alone and sentence more people to death than any other Florida prosecutor, gained widespread notoriety for her inadequate prosecution of Trayvon Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman.

Corey was also criticized for trying 12-year-old Cristian Fernandez as an adult in the killing of his younger brother.

Corey was defeated by unknown opponent and corporate lawyer Melissa Nelson, who will now face off with write-in candidate Kenny Leigh in the general election—although Jacksonville media noted that no write-in candidate has ever been elected to the state attorney position in Florida, and that Leigh has yet to make a single campaign appearance. Nelson, while in private practice, served on Fernandez’s defence team.

Other experts said the rejection of a so-called “tough on crime” prosecutor in a conservative area could signal a shift in voter priorities and political awareness.

“Over the last few decades, voters did not seem to respond when prosecutors failed to produce results,” said Wake Forest University law professor and former prosecutor Ronald Wright.

“Voters didn’t turn against a prosecutor who did not follow public priorities about how to use limited tax dollars to enforce the criminal law. But [the] election results in Jacksonville hint that a new era of prosecutor accountability might be here.”

Award-winning musician John Legend, who co-founded the #FreeAmerica criminal justice system reform campaign, also celebrated Corey’s ouster.

“Prosecutors possess much of the power to end mass incarceration and to make our criminal justice system smarter and more just,” he said in a statement.

“Today the voters in Jacksonville and throughout Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit have decided that Angela Corey failed in that responsibility by aggressively seeking the death penalty and egregiously charging juveniles, particularly those of colour, as adults. Her tactics have been rejected by her community, and we applaud the voters for rejecting them.”

Election Fraud Report Recommends Primary Results for Hillary Invalid*

Election Fraud Report Recommends Primary Results for Hillary Invalid*

A report by the non-profit election integrity organization Election Justice USA (EJUSA) is recommending that Democratic primary results in numerous states, including New York and California, be decertified and that the paper ballots be counted by hand in all states which show irregularities, where paper ballots are available.

The report, “Democracy Lost: A Report on the Fatally Flawed 2016 Democratic Primaries,” questions the legitimacy of the nomination of Hillary Clinton. It is co-authored by the 100th president of the American Statistical Association, Fritz Scheuren, a professor at George Washington University. The report declares:

““We conclude by calling for decertification of the 2016 Democratic primary results in every state in which we have established a reasonable doubt as to the accuracy of the vote tally.”

The states in which EJUSA found strong and compelling evidence of election fraud against Bernie Sanders are Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

As a remedy for future elections, the report calls for the “exclusive use of hand-counted paper ballots in all future U.S. elections.”

The report calls attention to a famous scene the HBO documentary “Hacking Democracy,” in which the ease with which a vote-counting machine can be “hacked” is demonstrated. The machine employs a kind of ballot-scanning technology which is currently in use in most states. A malicious program is inserted in the machine, with or without the knowledge of local election officials, which miscounts the votes on the ballots inserted into the machine. Most voting jurisdictions in the U.S. now use such “optical scan” vote tabulating machines.

The report estimates that up to 184 pledged delegates went to Clinton which should have gone to Sanders. The report concludes:

“an upper estimate of 184 pledged delegates lost by Senator Bernie Sanders as a consequence of specific irregularities and instances of fraud. Adding these delegates to Senator Sanders’ pledged delegate total and subtracting the same number from Hillary Clinton’s total would more than erase the 359 pledged delegate gap between the two candidates.”

Following the release the EJUSA report, the mainstream media have attempted to dispel the notion that election fraud could happen in the United States.

In a piece mocking Donald Trump’s recently expressed fears that the general election will be “rigged” for Clinton, Brendan Nyhan of the New York Times writes in “How Donald Trump’s ‘Rigged’ Claim Chips Away at Democracy”:

“Most recently, supporters of Bernie Sanders spread similar conspiracy theories that Hillary Clinton’s campaign used election fraud to win the Democratic nomination.”

Nyhan even goes so far as to charge that it is Trump who threatens democracy by challenging the integrity of elections, rather than the perpetrators of possible fraud, saying:

“This claim threatens the norms of American elections and could provoke a damaging reaction among his supporters.”

And the Washington Post, in an article published on August 15th, two weeks after the release of the EJUSA report, seems intent on pre-emptively discounting any future allegations of election fraud. The title of the Post article is “Why plenty of Donald Trump supporters will believe that Hillary Clinton stole the election.”

EJUSA identified voting patterns it said were “strongly suggestive of electronic voting machine tampering.”

The report noted that

“in other technologically advanced countries such as Germany, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Finland, and 53 other countries,” election ballots are counted by hand and in public. Germany banned the use of machines to count ballots in 2009.

The entire Democratic primary season was marked by multiple lawsuits, federal and state level investigations of election fiascos and irregularities, and open instances of fraud benefiting Hillary Clinton, all of it unreported by the national media. In Chicago, a citizens election watchdog group testified at a Chicago Board of Elections hearing that they witnessed local election officials manipulating the results of machine-counted ballots. A lawsuit has been filed by election integrity activists.

In San Diego, citizen election observers filmed ballots on which votes for Bernie Sanders appeared to be erased with white-out. A lawsuit alleging election fraud on the part of city officials has also been filed in San Diego County.

Other election integrity groups are also calling for all future elections in the U.S. to be conducted by paper ballots which are hand-counted in full public view, such as the Institute for American Democracy and Election Integrity.

The recent EJUSA report is one of a number of reports and papers released this year challenging the primary election results which propelled Hillary Clinton to the status of “presumptive nominee.” Another was published by graduate students affiliated with Stanford University entitled “Are we witnessing a dishonest election?”

How a Black-Owned School is Revolutionizing Education for the Gifted*

How a Black-Owned School is Revolutionizing Education for the Gifted*

When Claire Anderson could not find adequate resources for her gifted son, Caleb, she founded her own school to help her son and others like him.

Claire Anderson’s son, Caleb, started reading at 8 months. By 18 months he was in the first grade.

Realizing that Caleb was gifted, Anderson, who lies in Metro Atlanta, was determined to ensure that he would have the best resources available so that he would remain intellectually stimulated and challenged. And so she went on a search for those resources for him, but she found that nothing suited her child’s educational and social needs.

She recalls people being shocked that Caleb was a black boy and gifted. She notes how one psychologist told her to stop teaching him, and eventually other children would catch up. She and her husband, desperate to find something for their son, tried several schools—some private, some public—only to discover that most schools did not have adequate resources or simply did not find it financially beneficial to have a gifted program.

Well, you know what they say: If you want something done right, do it yourself.

That’s exactly what Anderson, who has a master’s degree in education and had previously launched a program to teach children to read before the age of 3, did. In 2012 she founded the Atlanta Gifted Academy in Marietta, Ga., with the intention of revolutionizing education for gifted children.

“My main goal is to provide them with the best education out there for them. I always tell people that I want my students to have the best resources. I want them to be prepared to go to any Ivy League college of their choosing,” Anderson told The Root.

“I want to make sure that they have the best curriculum, the best teachers … at their fingertips.”

Right now the AGA’s student body—which includes Caleb—is majority African American, a group of children who often have to deal with extra scrutiny and poorly concealed racial disparities, even within their very places of learning.

“Having a school like this that appropriately challenges and creates opportunities for gifted students of colour is essential and timely. Black families, in particular, raising gifted children nationwide are disenfranchised from traditional gifted-education programs and lack equitable access to programs like the one provided here,” Joy Lawson Davis, a board member with the National Association for Gifted Children, said of the AGA.

“This school has the potential to serve as an exemplary model for the nation. The founders are applauded for their initiative and perseverance in developing this service for Atlanta-area families raising gifted and high-potential students.”

Teachers often expect less of black and brown students. Black students are nearly four times as likely as their white counterparts to be suspended. Even the United Nations published a scathing report saying that it was “extremely concerned” about the quality of life that African Americans face, starting with the school system.

By extension, black children are often not thought of as gifted or tested for giftedness. And a lot of gifted children, Anderson notes, are often mislabeled because of the tendency of gifted individuals to exhibit behaviors similar to those of individuals with special needs. They often act out and are disruptive because they are bored and frustrated. That is why Anderson is such a huge proponent of universal testing.

That is also why Anderson wants her school to be a “refuge for these students, to let them know that their creative mind, their quirkiness, everything about them, is special and unique.”

The AGA, which caters to pre-K students and continues through the eighth grade, has developed a one-of-a-kind curriculum and offers a “personalized learning plan” for every student according to his or her interests, abilities and strengths.

“We focus on mastery so the students are not held by a grade or by an age. If they have mastered something, then they move on,” Anderson explained.

“Students can be really advanced in one area, and in another area they’re struggling.”

For example, at the school an 8-year-old could be taking trigonometry but still be at the third-grade level in language arts.

We let them advance in the area that they are advancing in but still help them with their weaknesses. They have their own personalized schedule so they don’t move within their age group … they move within their ability,” Anderson added.

“They’re really competing with themselves and not with anyone else at the school. It’s a lot of work for us as educators, but we definitely see the fruit of it, and that’s why we do it.”

Students are taught STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects, learn Spanish and Mandarin, and have access to music lessons and other services not available in traditional schools.

Many parents, Anderson says, see the school as a godsend. Some parents drive 45 minutes, sometimes over an hour, just to bring their child to the school—a place where they can be themselves and not have to worry about proving themselves in any way.

I knew that [my son] needed to be in an environment that was more challenging in order for it not to become a behavior issue,” Evita Wells, whose son attends AGA, said of the school in a press release earlier this year.

“Claire and her staff are able to adapt to the way that children learn. Their curriculum is based on the Stanford University model and they make sure school is challenging for students.”

“At school, their curiosity is never satisfied. They are encouraged to ask questions and they are encouraged to be who they are. Also, the personalized learning plans help them to progress so quickly,” another parent, Koel Roy, said.

For Anderson, one student said it best: “He said, ‘When I come here, I’m able to breathe,’” Anderson told The Root.

“You can be in a crowd and still be lonely, and here at a school where other people understand him and they get each other’s jokes, each other’s quirkiness … everyone accepts one another.”

The private email server used by Hillary Clinton during her time as secretary of state was paid for by taxpayer money set aside as aid for former presidents. An investigation found the Former Presidents Act was used to fund the Clinton Foundation and business associates.

Passed in 1958, the same year former President Harry Truman had to sell the family farm to avoid “practically” being on relief, the Act was intended to “maintain the dignity” of former presidents.

Flash forward to 2016, and an investigation carried out by Politico revealed the act is abused by Bill Clinton, who since 2001 has requested more than $16 million under the Act, more than any other living former president.

IT equipment including servers housed at the Clinton Foundation were purchased with funds from the Act, despite the Clintons becoming multimillionaire members of the ‘1 percent’ through book deals, speeches and consultancies following Bill’s time as president.

The Act was not intended for such purposes, instead operating as an assistance fund to former presidents as they transition out of office in order to avoid a repeat of Truman’s struggle.

The servers purchased by this fund would later be used for a private email account for Hillary Clinton’s use during her time as secretary of state.

Former Bill Clinton aide Justin Cooper, who assisted Hillary in setting up the private email server, had his earnings supplemented with proceeds provided under the Act, from February 2011 through to 2013.

During this period, Cooper was also working on the launch of Teneo, a consultancy firm which paid Bill Clinton $3.5 million to be its “honorary chairman.” Targeted at CEOs, the firm charged fees as high as $250,000 per month for its services. Their proximity to the Clintons gave them an ideal environment to attract wealthy clients.

Declan Kelly, appointed by Hillary Clinton as economic envoy to Northern Ireland in 2009, also worked with Cooper on the launch of Teneo. Kelly would go on to become the firm’s CEO a month after leaving his state post.

Bill Clinton and Tony Blair both worked as paid advisors for Teneo, along with Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin, who worked as a consultant while serving as a top advisor to the secretary of state.

Full federal employee benefits, including health and life insurance along with pensions, were the key reason for adding people to the GSA payroll, sources told Politico. This allowed the Clintons to avoid paying benefits to their overlapping staff.

Politico found that those who had their earnings supplemented by the federal payments received roughly $10,000 a year.

According to the Clinton Foundation’s website, a wall exists between them and the ex-president’s office.

“All Foundation employees are paid for work through the Foundation payroll. No Foundation staff are paid for Foundation work with taxpayer dollars,” it reads on the

On several occasions, the GSA responded to requests from Clinton asking him to clarify if it was for his office or the Clinton Foundation. According to Politico, equipment was purchased and housed for a period of time at the foundation’s premises, on at least one occasion.

The information was uncovered via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request which also unveiled the Clintons had a problem with bed bugs.

When Clinton made a request for a bed bug removal service the GSA asked,

“Is there currently a bed bug issue…or is the request for some type of on-going maintenance services?” The answer was disappointingly not released under the Act.

Politico said the investigation did not reveal anything illegal, but that it did offer

“fresh evidence of how the Clintons blurred the line between their nonprofit foundation, Hillary Clinton’s State Department, and the business dealings of Bill Clinton and the couple’s aides.”

An aide to Bill Clinton told Politico that his use of the program was entirely consistent with the Act and that his staffing reflected his dual roles as former president and founder of the Clinton Foundation.
