Haiti Rejects Election under Occupation*

Haiti Rejects Election under Occupation*

The discredited mainstream media has evidently not learned anything from the fiasco of the 2016 United States presidential election, for which it predicted an 85% probability of a Hillary Clinton win, instead of the Donald Trump landslide that happened.

This was not the mainstream’s first foray into the business of manipulating elections. In December 2014, Reuters, AP, Miami Herald, and Huffington Post, among others, declared Evans Paul to be prime minister of Haiti without the requisite approval of the parliament, and it was so. Something similar was done when they called California for Hillary Clinton, before the votes were counted, and handed her the democratic primaries against Bernie Sanders in June 2016. Now mainstream outfits, including the BBCNew York TimesGuardian, and Fox News are trying to make Jovenel Moise Haiti’s president by pretending not to know the difference between a preliminary and a final result.

In Haiti, there is a constitutionally allowed period during which candidates may contest the preliminary results of an election. Such contests are routine, and the results are often changed by them. The foreign correspondents in Haiti know this, but they prefer to ignore it. It is a fact that Haiti’s top three political parties (LAPEH, Pitit Desalin, and Fanmi Lavalas) are all contesting the presidential elections of November 20, 2016. As the LAPEH candidate, Jude Celestin, points out, the aim is not so much to increase their percentage of the vote, but to prove that the election was rigged and force a rejection of any candidate who illegally tried to cook the vote. Preliminary results of the election were announced on Monday, November 28. Until the election results are published in the government’s newspaper, Le Moniteur, on December 29, 2016, they are not final.

Haiti is an occupied country. Make no mistake about it: the foreign correspondents who populate Port-au-Prince’s bougainvillea covered hills, along with the non-governmental organization people, are complicit with the occupation. Free and fair elections of a nationalistic government would cost them their undeserved jobs as well as their colonial lifestyles with a retinue of servants inside gated clusters of whites-only-allowed villas. Jovenel Moise would continue Hillary and Bill Clinton’s policies, lay the groundwork for a Michel Martelly return in five years, and himself return five years later. This would represent a total of 20 years of uninterrupted Clinton-wrought destruction of Haitians, but the expatriates in Haiti would luxuriate in an intoxicating tropical paradise.

The fuzzy numbers of Haiti’s Elections: Byen Konte, Mal Kalkile

When their work is viewed in this context, it is not surprising that Haiti’s foreign correspondents have failed to ask any serious question about an election that cries out to be examined.

According to the Interim Electoral Commission (CEP), the number of Haiti’s voters on November 20 was exactly 1.0 million. This could, of course, signify nothing. On the other hand, it could mean that our cheats, not being fluent in arithmetic, prefer their numbers round. Before the vote, the CEP reported the total number of eligible voters to be 6.2 million; but after the vote, the same CEP said that 1.0 million voters amounted to 21% of the electorate. This would instead put the number of eligible voters at 4.8 million, and it begs the question: what happened to 1.4 million Haitian voters? These days, most of Haiti’s problems are blamed on Hurricane Matthew. It might be entertaining to watch the CEP try to lose more than a million people to a hurricane.

The PHTK candidate and darling of the international community, Jovenel Moise, was assigned 55.67% of the preliminary vote. This is a laughable degree of accuracy, since Haiti’s human rights groups and political parties estimate that 50% of the votes were irregular. Speaking of the irregular vote: if we grant a turnout of 1.0 million voters out of 6.2 million, and discard a 50% zombie vote, then we’re left with the conclusion that only 8% of Haiti’s voters showed up to the polls. In other words, 92% of Haiti’s voters once again boycotted the charade of an election under foreign occupation.

After Only 6 Months Daesh Defeat in Sirte, Libya*

After Only 6 Months Daesh Defeat in Sirte, Libya*

Libyan forces have announced that after six months of fierce fighting to vanquish Daesh from the coastal city of Sirte, the city has been liberated.
“Our forces have total control of Sirte,” Reda Issa, a spokesperson for pro-government forces, told AFP. Earlier on Monday the final few dozen Daesh insurgents, left in the Ghiza Bahriya district, surrendered to the Libyan forces, officials said.

It is likely that the extirpation of Daesh from the city will throw into stark relief the tensions between the U.N.-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) and the opposition government based in the country’s eastern city of Tobruk, supported by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and his Libyan National Army (LNA). Both sides have been grappling for political credibility since the 2011 ouster of Libyan strongman colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Forces loyal to Haftar and the GNA have been locked in hostilities with Daesh over Sirte for approximately six months. Analysts have argued that both parties see capturing Sirte and defeating Daesh as an avenue to increasing credibility and legitimacy in the eyes of Libyans.

The international community has called upon Haftar and his forces — the Libyan National Army — to accept the authority vested in the GNA by the benediction of the U.N. However, the characteristic vicissitude of post-Gaddafi Libyan politics has recently brought an unexpected twist of fate for the country’s political trajectory.

Haftar and the LNA launched a military operation named ‘Sudden Lightning’ which sought to take control of Libya’s oil crescent ports on the country’s coast from the Petroleum Guard Forces (PGF). The PGF has acted as custodian to the oil ports for the GNA, which has earned them the contempt of Haftar and the opposition government in Tobruk, who have argued that oil — which is Libya’s most lucrative export commodity — should be controlled by all parties, not only the GNA.

Libya boasts Africa’s largest oil reserves, estimated at 48 billion barrels. Back in 2010 before the revolution and NATO bombing, Libya was producing approximately 1.65 million barrels per day. However, the post-Gaddafi security fallout and crisis has caused production rates to drop from 1.6 million barrels per day to under 260,000. The Libyan National Oil Company has estimated that costs of losses in production since 2014 have been approximately US$100 billion dollars.

Following the LNA’s successful takeover of the oil crescent (which includes the ports Ras Lanuf, Sidra, Zueitina and Brega), Haftar declared the opening up of the ports for business, and announced he would be handing over control of the ports to the Libyan National Oil Company (NOC) to begin the process of exportation.

The GNA came out in condemnation of Haftar’s takeover of the ports and initially the USA, Britain, Italy, Spain and France released a joint statement that they would be enforcing sanctions upon those who illegally export Libyan oil. However, following the capture of the ports, Haftar followed through on his word and handed over the ports to the NOC, which says it is politically neutral and loyal to both the GNA and the Haftar-supported parliament.

The following week, an oil tanker left the port of Ras Lanuf bound for Italy, carrying with it 776,000 barrels of oil. This was in fact the first shipment of oil to leave Ras Lanuf port since November 2014.

It appears that Hafar’s victory may have dealt a decisive blow to the GNA’s credibility by shifting the balance of political as well as military power in his favor. Moreover, Haftar’s proclamation that the ports be reopened will no doubt be perceived as a positive development, thus possibly cementing his credibility and legitimacy in the eyes of ordinary Libyans. Not long after the takeover, Western powers suddenly struck a more conciliatory tone, saying that they “welcomed the transfer of the oil facilities in the oil crescent to the National Oil Corporation as well as the plans to increase oil production and exports.” Therefore effectively legitimising the LNA’s grabbing of the oil ports and handing them over to the NOC.

“By taking control of the oil terminals, Haftar firstly increased his popularity and his legitimacy within Libya, but also he convinced the international community that he is a force that is able to act. So he has managed to position himself as a credible actor on the ground in the eyes of Libyans, but also now for much of the international community,” Mohamed Eljarh of the Atlantic Council told Sputnik.

It is undeniable that the ramping up of oil production is a welcome move by Libyans. However, whether or not Haftar and the LOC will be able to maintain the exports in the medium to long term is a point in question.

John Hall of the energy consultancy firm Alpha Group told Sputnik:

“Exports from Libya are not regarded as being stable or reliable. But the real issue here is — who is actually in control? Because even discerning that simple fact is difficult at this stage, discussions of the future of the exports is very difficult.”

Nevertheless, there is strong reason to believe that by removing the oil crescent from the control of the GNA-backed militias, Haftar has managed to expose the GNA’s inability to maintain its hold over a key state asset —oil — thus making it appear a weak actor.

In the eyes of many Libyans this is a grim portent for how effective the GNA might be into the future, considering that it was not able to defend the country’s primary economic lifeline from being taken by force. The oil crescent remains a powder keg between the two governments, as control over it is seen as vital to gaining legitimacy in the eyes of the Libyan people, and now seemingly the international community. Both the GNA and the Haftar-backed parliament in Tobruk walk a tightrope into Libyans political future and may recognise the need to reconcile and work together to ramp up oil production and improve the socioeconomic prospects of ordinary Libyans.

At the end of September at an interview with AFP in Paris, the leader of the GNA, Fayez al-Sarraj, struck a new and placatory tone, saying that Haftar should be represented in a new, more “inclusive” government.

Barely two weeks after the LNA seized the oil crescent, Serraj said that, “no one wants an escalation or a confrontation between Libyans.” Whether or not both sides will be able to reconcile and focus on rectifying Libya’s political woes remains to be seen. However, one thing is for sure — the control of the oil crescent may have unexpectedly brought the GNA and Haftar closer together, meaning it might turn out to be Libya’s political saving grace. The recent defeat of Daesh in Sirte marks a new chapter in Libya’s fratricidal conflict. Forces loyal to the GNA announced on December 5th that they were responsible for driving Daesh out of its last remaining pocket in Sirte. On the other hand, Haftar’s LNA argues that it has been waging the war of attrition against the group that has contributed to the slow erosion of its battlefield capabilities over the last six months. Both groups will claim the defeat was meted out by their own hand in the hope of winning over the majority of Libyan people to their camp.

Regardless of who delivered the coup de grace to Daesh in Sirte, if a semblance of stability and unity is to return to Libya, then both parties bust mutually recognise the legitimacy that the other commands and come together to forge a new political future for Libya.

160 Global Groups Call for Moratorium on New Genetic Extinction Technology at U.N. Convention*

Gene drive technology poses serious and potentially irreversible threats to biodiversity, as well as national sovereignty, peace, and food security

This week, international conservation and environmental leaders are calling on governments at the 2016 U.N. Convention on Biodiversity to establish a moratorium on the controversial genetic extinction technology called gene drives.

Gene drives, developed through new gene-editing techniques, are designed to force a particular genetically engineered trait to spread through an entire wild populationpotentially changing entire species or even causing deliberate extinctions. The statement urges governments to put in place an urgent, global moratorium on the development and release of the new technology, which poses serious and potentially irreversible threats to biodiversity, as well as national sovereignty, peace, and food security.

Over 160 civil society organisations from six continents have joined the call. Among them were environmental organizations including GMWatch; Friends of the Earth International; International Union of Food Workers, representing over 10 million workers in 127 countries; organizations representing millions of small-scale famers around the world, such as the La Via Campesina International and the International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements; the international indigenous peoples’ organization Tebtebba; scientist coalitions including European Network of Scientists for Social and Environmental Responsibility and Unión de Científicos Comprometidos con la Sociedad (Mexico); as well as ETC Group, and Third World Network.

“We lack the knowledge and understanding to release gene drives into the environment – we don’t even know what questions to ask. To deliberately drive a species to extinction has major ethical, social and environmental implications,” says Dr. Steinbrecher, representing the Federation of German Scientists.

“It is essential that we pause, to allow the scientific community, local communities and society at large to debate and reflect. We can’t allow ourselves to be led by a novel technique. In the meantime, a moratorium is essential.”

“These genetic extinction technologies are false solutions to our conservation challenges,” said Dana Perls of Friends of the Earth.

“We want to support truly sustainable and community driven conservation efforts. Gene drives could be co-opted by agribusiness and military interests. We need a moratorium on irreversible and irresponsible technologies such as gene drives.”

“Gene drives will be one of the fiercest debates at CBD this year,” says Jim Thomas of ETC Group.

“Gene drives are advancing far too quickly in the real world, and so far are unregulated. There are already hundreds of millions of dollars pouring into gene drive development, and even reckless proposals to release gene drives within next four years.”

“The CBD is the premier international treaty for protecting biodiversity and life on earth from new threats,” said Lim Li Ching of Third World Network.

“It is within the mandate of the CBD to adopt this moratorium, and countries that are party to this agreement must act now to avoid serious or irreversible harm.”

  1. A copy of the Call for a Global Moratorium on Gene Drives is available with a complete list of signatories, and a short briefing outlining the arguments for a global moratorium on gene drives prepared by the Civil Society Working Group on Gene Drives is available at

  3. The U.N. Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) is meeting from December 4-17 in Cancun, Mexico. Other synthetic biology topics are being negotiated – more background found in this media advisory: dna-challenged
  4. In the lead up to COP 13, German Minister for the Environment Barbara Hendricks wrote a statement saying she would not support the release of gene drives into the environment.
  5. In September 2016, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) adopted a de facto moratorium on the support or endorsement of research into gene drives for conservation or other purposes. At the same time, 30 leading conservationists and environmentalists called for a moratorium. More information on this moratorium is available at international-group-of-scientists.
  6. In June 2016, the US National Academy of Sciences released “Gene Drives on the Horizon,” a report that explored the environmental and social concerns of gene drives, and warned against the environmental release of gene drives. More information on the report can be found at

Victory at Last? Army Denies Dakota Access Easement under Lake Oahe; Exultation Ensues*

Armed police and vehicles occupy the top of Turtle Island, a sacred site to the Standing Rock Sioux. Water protectors gather at the base of the island to pray to their ancestors. The Dakota Access oil pipeline is being constructed just beyond Turtle Island, and is currently routed to tunnel beneath the Missouri River upstream of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. Thousands of supporters from all over the world are stationed in nearby encampments to protect the source of the tribe’s drinking water.

By Jenni Monet

Federal officials with the Department of Army announced on Sunday, December 4 that they would not approve permits for construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.  The denial halts construction of the $3.8 billion dollar project that has been partially stalled at the easement of the contested Missouri River, the primary water source for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.

The decision is a significant victory for the tribal nation and thousands of water protectors camped near the construction site of the pipeline project who have until tomorrow, Monday Dec. 5 to evacuate the sprawling Oceti Sakowin Camp.

In a statement released by the Army’s Assistant Secretary for Civil Works, Jo-Ellen Darcy said she based her decision on a need to explore alternate routes for the 1,172 mile-long pipeline.

“Although we have had continuing discussion and exchanges of new information with the Standing Rock Sioux and Dakota Access, it’s clear that there’s more work to do,” said Darcy.

The federal agency is recommending an Environmental Impact Statement be conducted with full public input and analysis to explore a possible reroute of the pipeline. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe argued that the existing path of the energy project threatened the Missouri River, the tribe’s water supply. Plans called for burying the pipe 90–110 feet below the Missouri River. The administration of President Barack Obama had blocked construction of easements on both sides of the river in early September. In November, Obama told Now This News that the Army Corps of Engineers was considering alternate routes for the pipeline project.

Energy Transfer Partners, operator of the Dakota Access pipeline, has publicly rejected ideas of a reroute.

While Sunday’s decision is seen as a major victory for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and its thousands of supporters, tribal leaders and organizers behind the movement are celebrating with caution.

“We hope that Kelcy Warren, Governor [Jack] Dalrymple and the incoming Trump administration respect this decision and understand the complex process that led us to this point,” said Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Chairman Dave Archambault II in a prepared statement, referring to Energy Transfer Partners, CEO and the governor of North Dakota.

“Our network is singing the victory song with the Standing Rock Sioux,” said Tom Goldtooth, director of the Indigenous Environmental Network.

“However, we are cautiously hopeful that this is a total win.”

But there was gratitude and appreciation for Obama, who has mostly remained silent on the issue in recent weeks.

“The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and all of Indian Country will be forever grateful to the Obama Administration for this historic decision,” said Archambault.

“In a system that has continuously been stacked against us from every angle, it took tremendous courage to take a new approach to our nation-to-nation relationship.”

Ancient Pyramids in Antartica’s Landscape and the Piri Reis Map*

Ancient Pyramids in Antartica’s Landscape and the Piri Reis Map*

The World Wide Web is all abuzz with Google Earth images of Antarctica that appear to show pyramids in the icy landscape. The images show what appears to be three pyramids with four sides similar to the famous Giza pyramids in Egypt. Could these be authentic man-made pyramids created by an ancient civilization?

Who Made the Pyramids?

There are numerous theories about the origin of these pyramids. Some of the more controversial suggestions are that the pyramids were remnants of an earlier Atlantean civilization in Antarctica, or that they were built by extraterrestrials.

Other researchers have suggested a natural geological explanation for the Antarctica pyramids. These scientists have suggested that the “pyramids”, may actually be nunataks. Nunataks are the peaks of mountains that protrude through the ice and are higher than the surrounding terrain.

The Research of Dr. Charles Hapgood

Two of the ‘Antarctica pyramids’ can be found 10 miles (16 kms) from the coast. The third pyramid is located near the shoreline.

The discovery of these pyramids suggests that Antarctica may have been inhabited by humans sometime in the past 6,000 years. It was around this time that man was building pyramids in the Old World. Charles Hapgood’s research supports the possible existence of an ancient civilization on a continent which is now covered by ice.

In Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings , Dr. Charles Hapgood published the Piri Reis Map of Antarctica. This 16 th century map shocked the world because it showed the way Antarctica looked without ice.

The Piri Reis map was found in Turkey. A Turkish Navy officer sent the map to the U.S. Navy Hydro Graphic Bureau in 1953. M.I. Walters, the Chief Engineer of the Bureau, sent the map to Arlington H. Mallery to be evaluated. Mallery determined that Piri Reis map was completely accurate and may have been copied from a map made 6,000 years ago.

Map of the world by Muslim admiral Piri Reis, drawn in 1513

Confirming the Piri Reis Map

The Piri Reis map of Antarctica is very accurate. Using seismic soundings and sonar, researchers found that underneath the ice-cap the coastlines, mountain ranges, plateaus etc. on the Piri Reis map matched the Queen Maud land, Antarctica. Olhmeyer, leader of the British-Swedish expedition to Antarctica wrote Hapgood the following letter:

“Dear Professor Hapgood,
Your request of evaluation of certain unusual features of the Piri Reis Antarctica map of 1513 by this organization has been reviewed. The claim that the lower part of the map portrays the Princess Martha Coast of Queen Maud Land, Antarctic, and the Palmer Peninsular, is reasonable. We find that this is the most logical and in all probability the correct interpretation of the map. The geographical detail shown in the lower part of the map agrees very remarkably with the results of the seismic profile made across the top of the ice-cap by the Swedish-British Antarctic Expedition of 1949.This indicates the coastline had been mapped before it was covered by the ice-cap. This part of Antarctica ice free. The ice-cap in this region is now about a mile thick. We have no idea how the data on this map can be reconciled with the supposed state of geographical knowledge in 1513.”

Harold Z. Olhmeyer Lt. Colonel, USAF Commander

The Aheloy Nunatak, a natural formation

The letter from Ohlmeyer confirmed Dr. Charles Hapgood’s theory that the Piri Reis map was probably copied from a map made in ancient times. Dr. Charles Hapgood wrote in Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings that he was sure that although the Piri Reis Map contained latitudes and longitudes plotted out at right angles in a traditional plane geometry, it had to have been based on an earlier map. Hapgood was sure the map was ancient in origin because the Piri Reis map’s creator used spheroid trigonometry which was thought to have been invented in the 18th Century, even though the Piri Reis map has been dated to 1513.

No matter what the origin of the snow pyramids may be, the discovery of these mysterious features will increase speculation on the possible human habitation of Antarctica in recent history.

Killary Clinton Loses 18,422 Votes in Day 3 of Wisconsin Recount*

Killary Clinton Loses 18,422 Votes in Day 3 of Wisconsin Recount*

In the Wisconsin Day 3 Recount Update 18,422 votes for Hillary Clinton were erased resulting in a 15,133 vote net increase for Donald Trump.

Trump won Wisconsin by over 22,000 votes in Wisconsin but thanks to Jill Stein a recount is currently underway.

So far the recount has made little news because, as Heavy reported at the end of day 2 of the recount, the net vote in Wisconsin had only changed by 3 votes.

However, the Wisconsin Board of Elections just posted updated recount results for Day 3 on their recount update page and today’s net changes are much more dramatic.

In the Day 3 recount update, Hillary Clinton has a net total loss of 18,422 votes in from the original count in areas that have been recounted so far.

In contrast, Donald Trump has a net total loss of 3,289 votes from the original count in areas that have been recounted so far.

The resulting total difference is a net change of 15,133 votes in favor of Donald Trump after the completion of the 3rd day of the recount.

These are not final results and the recount is still underway. These counts reflect the difference between the votes counted in the recount verse the votes counted in the original election.

This screen shot below shows the sum of the net total changes for Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton after the 3rd day of the recount.

These changes are of course altered but net losses and additions in other precincts.

Unless the official data is in some manner inaccurate or incomplete, this would suggest that 10,000s of thousands of votes are being during the recount process

Coincidentally, Jill Stein has just withdrew her Pennsylvania recount petition claiming she couldn’t afford to posted the 1 million bond required.

Of course that is absolutely false given she has raised nearly $7 million from donors to fund her recount and the withdrawal comes as Trump’s lead in PA has shrunk from 71,000 to 49,000 after officials included overseas and absentee ballots that were originally not included.

The recount in concession effectively ends any chance of the election being overturned in Hillary’s favor unless recount petitions are filed in additional states.

A spreadsheet showing the counts in the screen shot can be downloaded here.

Anyone can reproduce these results as follows from the original spreadsheet using the following method:

  1. Download the Day 3 updates from the Wisconsin Election Board website here.
  2. Insert 3 columns after row N
  3. Label the new columns N – Counted, M Change Trump, N Change Clinton. At this point
    1. Column Y will show the recount change for Donald Trump
    2. Column Z will show the recount change for Clinton
    3. The values in Y and Z will be negative for the entire original vote if the recount hasn’t been completed otherwise it will show the net change from the updated results.
    4. We will use column N to double checked recount has been performed to excluded losses that haven’t been counted.
  4. Entire the following formulas in row 3 for each column:
    1. N =IF(Q2=””,0,1)
    2. M =IF(Q2=””,0,Y2)
    3. O =IF(R2=””,0,Z2)
  5. Select in Row 2 select Cells in N, M, and 0 and while holding shift scroll down to the last cells in the sheet and then Choose Fill and Down from the home menu.
  6. Sum the results by adding the following formulas:
    1. In cell O3638 enter the formula =SUM(O2:O3637)
    2. In cell P3638=SUM(P2:P3637)
  7. Totals should now match the screen shots above.

Notes on the spreadsheet, some have suggested the math is wrong or the data is being read wrong.

The math is not wrong and it has been double checked by hand. The data, as explained below is self-explanatory is not being read wrong either.

The only explanation is the Wisconsin Board of Election for some reason posted incomplete or inaccurate data or for some reason tens of thousands of votes are being invalidated during the recount process.

So far the Wisconsin Board of Elections has only posted commentary of the addition of new votes being added to the original results and has not commented on why any votes have been removed from the original results.

Columns F-L contain the current official vote counts. This can easily be verified by comparing sums for all precincts in each county to the official county by county results which are online here.

Here’s the official Adams count results:

Columns Q-R show the recount results.

If these columns Q-R are populated, then the recount has been done for the precinct and the difference between the original vote count and the recount vote count is displayed in Columns Y-AE.

If columns Q-R are not populated, the recount has not yet been reported and Columns Y-AE show the negation of the original recount columns.

Finally, not shown are Columns AG-AM which are merely the percentage change from the original count and the recount.

Since there are no results for most of the precincts we can filter to only show the precincts which have been recounted by clicking the filter icon in our modified spread sheet and unchecking the “O” checkbox.

This will show only the relevant precincts were the recount has been completed.
