Department of Defence of Australia announced on Tuesday that Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) halts air campaign in Syria.

“As a precaution measure, Australian Armed Forces temporarily halt airstrikes in Syria,” official statement by the DoD says.

It is noteworthy that the statement was made two days after the U.S.-led coalition shot down a Syrian Air Force fighter jet in Raqqa province.

On Monday, Russia halted participation in the Memorandum on incident prevention in Syria.
