Canon Lawyers and Theologians to Hold Conference on ‘deposing the pope’*

By Pete Baklinski

Canon lawyers, theologians, and scholars will be meeting in Paris in two weeks to discuss a topic that has never been the focus of a Catholic conference before: How to depose a heretical pope.

Titled Deposing the Pope: Theological Premises, Canonical Models, Constitutional Challenge, the conference seeks to explore the mechanisms that are built into the Catholic Church for dealing with a pope who openly teaches falsehood and even heresy.

Speaking at the conference will be University of Paris Professor Laurent Fonbaustier who published a 1200 page book last year on the topic that was titled The Deposition of the Heretical Pope.

The conference includes 15 speakers who will be giving a range of talks on the subject matter with titles such as “Conciliarism and the Deposition of a Pope Through the Prism of Gallicanism,” “The Downfall of the Pope: Between Renunciation and Deposition,” and “The Deposition of John XXII and Benedict XIII at Constance, 1415–1417.”

Brochure from the ‘Deposing the Pope’ Conference

Speaking at the conference are Professors Nicolas Warembourg and Cyrille Dounot, two of the 45 Catholic academics who last June submitted an appeal to the Dean of the College of Cardinals in Rome requesting a repudiation of erroneous propositions they found in Pope Francis’ exhortation Amoris Laetitia.

The group of 45 Catholic academics said the Pope’s exhortation presented

“dangers to Catholic faith and morals” since it “contains a number of statements that can be understood in a sense that is contrary to Catholic faith and morals.”

The conference comes after four years of Francis at the helm of the Barque of Peter. During this time the Pope, and the people he has put into key positions, have steered the Church in a direction that would have been unthinkable to faithful Catholics under the two previous pontiffs of John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.

Francis’ ambiguous speeches and especially his papal writings have turned cardinal against cardinal, bishop against bishop, and lay-faithful against lay-faithful. Doctrinal confusion has resulted in pastoral guidelines being issued based on his writings that allow Holy Communion to be given to those living in adultery.

Last November Vaticanist Giuseppe Nardi reported that a 1975 theological study by the learned Brazilian layman Arnaldo Vidigal Xavier da Silveira was making the rounds in the Vatican. The layman examined in his work titled The Theological Hypothesis of a Heretical Pope whether it is possible for a pope to be or become a heretic, and if so, what consequences would follow from this.

Reported Nardi: “Three-and-a-half years after the start of his pontificate, Pope Francis is reaching his limits. The impression, given by means of gestures and words, of a latent intention to change the doctrine of the Church must at some point either take on definite form or else it must collapse,” he wrote at that time.

“Francis finds himself cornered by means of the very atmosphere he himself is responsible for creating. It’s no longer about a spontaneous utterance on this or that, which remains improvised and non-binding. His pastoral work and his leadership skills, which demand a sense of responsibility and an exemplary character, are reaching their limits. This could cause Francis [‘s pontificate] to fail,” he added.

The conference comes three months after Cardinal Raymond Burke gave an interview in which he explained that if a pope were to “formally profess heresy he would cease, by that act, to be the Pope.”

Burke said in the December 2016 interview that there is a process within the Church for dealing with such a situation, adding his hope that “we won’t be witnessing that at any time soon.”

Also in December American canon lawyer Dr. Edward Peters addressed the question of what could be done if a pope were found to be heretical.

Peters writes that the “crucial question” from a canonist’s perspective is “who would determine whether a given pope has fallen into heresy” since Canon 1404 states that the “First See is judged by no one.”

He found in canonical tradition, however, the position that if a general council determined that a pope had committed heresy, by that very fact he will have effectually cut himself off from the true vine, thereby forfeiting his office.

Comments Peters: “…however remote is the possibility of a pope actually falling into heresy and however difficult it might be to determine whether a pope has so fallen, such a catastrophe, Deus vetet [God forbid], would result in the loss of papal office.”

The location for the upcoming conference is significant, reports Church Militant. It was in the 1300s the University of Paris explored the question of what could be done with the possibly heretical Pope John XXII, who denied the doctrine that the souls of the just are admitted to the beatific vision after death, a position he retracted on his deathbed.

Eruption at Mount Etna Spreading to all Craters*

Following an increase in Strombolian activity on February 27, 2017, Mount Etna, Europe’s largest volcano, continues erupting and it appears the activity is now spreading to all the craters at the top of the mountain.

INGV reported that Strombolian activity at Etna’s New Southeast Crater (NSEC) cone had gradually intensified beginning at 16:00 UTC on February 27. Lava soon overflowed the vent, quickly traveled down the S flank, and then slowed after reaching the gently sloping terrain. The flow spread SSW, towards the old cone of Monte Frumento Supino.

Frequent Strombolian explosions ejected incandescent lava fragments up to 200 m (656 feet) above the vent. INGV-Osservatorio Etneo staff observed sporadic emissions of vapour and brownish ash from several vents within the NSEC. A new pyroclastic cone around the vent had grown higher than the highest points on the SEC (Southeast Crater) or NSEC. The lava flow slowly advanced on top of the snow, and by March 1 was about 1.5 km (0.9 miles) from the vent. By the late evening, activity declined, and the volcanic tremour amplitude rapidly diminished.

However, the activity at the volcano continued and now it appears it is spreading to all craters.

As of early March 15, the volcanic tremour amplitude is sharply rising.

Has Pope Francis Removed Every Single Member of the Vatican Pro-life Academy*

Has Pope Francis Removed Every Single Member of the Vatican Pro-life Academy*

By Jan Bentz

The Pontifical Academy for Life, long a bastion of orthodoxy within the Vatican, now has no members and is effectively shut down after Pope Francis’ recent reform of the institution.

The pope issued new statutes for the Academy on October 18, and removed all of its members.

“All members’ terms ended on December 31, 2016; currently the Academy is waiting for the new appointments,” Fr. Andrea Ciucci, a staff member of the Pontifical Council for the Family, told LifeSiteNews.

“We expect new members to be nominated by the appointment of the Holy Father within the next weeks,” Ciucci explained. They expect 75 ordinary members to be appointed, he said. Together with the ordinary appointments, the pope is launching a sub-group called “College of Young Scholars,” consisting of younger researchers in the given fields. Altogether the new appointees will not exceed 100 members.

Christine de Marcellus Vollmer, an Academy member since its founding by St. John Paul II in 1994, sent LifeSiteNews the Academy’s Christmas letter in which directives were given and recent changes explained.

The letter addressed to all members announced Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia’s nomination as president as well as the re-working of the statutes. At the same time it announced that annual recurring meetings would be suspended, de-inviting participants from a future assembly.

Vollmer explained that in May the Academy’s members were invited for a general assembly in March 2017 which was then “postponed” indefinitely. This notice of delay was followed by a document explaining that all members were “suspended.” Only recently news surfaced that the next general assembly is to take place October 2017.

Academy assemblies bring together specialists from all over the world to discuss a certain topic and have an interdisciplinary exchange of expertise.

Another Academy member, who wished to remain anonymous for “fear of jeopardizing reappointment,” affirmed these developments.

“I did get a letter,” the source told LifeSiteNews via email.

“They said they were re-configuring. They said people would be notified of reappointment. I have heard nothing so far but when I asked [they said] people could expect to hear about it in April or May. The meeting will be in October.”

On the Academy’s website, the list of ordinary members is currently recorded as none, while all previous 172 members are registered with their appointment having ended on December 31, 2016. The “Central Office” is recorded as consisting of Archbishop Paglia and his seven-person team.

Last year Pope Francis replaced the head of the Academy and changed its statutes. His reforms include the removal of the requirement for members to sign a pro-life declaration.

Vollmer commented with concern, saying:

“Originally we each had to make an oath in front of the Nuncio of our country that we would be Servants of Life and uphold the teaching on life of the Magisterium.  We have not seen of course the new ‘commitment’ but the wording on the new statutes sounds softer, and as the Academy is now open to people of any religion or none, it is doubtful they would commit very seriously to Humanae Vitae!”

The shift of attention from moral questions to a mere scientific approach is another rising concern.

“The other emphasis that I find sad is that [the Academy] has become, seemingly, only interested in science.  The Pontifical Academy of Science already covers that, with scientists of all religions or none, and is full of Nobel Prize winners. PAL was founded with a list of intentionally mixed specialists including lawyers, doctors, journalists, prolife leaders, psychiatrists, family activists, priests, teachers, and so on, the intention of the founders being to be able to study and analyze the causes of anti-life tendencies and find ways to counteract them.  I knew the founders, especially Jerome Lejeune, very well. This was the task, and sadly with his death the discourse became ever more directed towards ‘hard science’ rather than ‘prolife science’,” explained Vollmer.

Journalist Maike Hickson from OnePeterFive pointed out that many of the dismissed members, including Cardinal Caffarra and Cardinal Willem Eijk, as well as Prof. Josef Seifert and Prof. Robert Spaemann, have one thing in common: their public objection to Amoris Laetitia and the liberalization of the Church’s moral teaching that goes along with it.

Archbishop Paglia is known for his support of the distribution of Communion for “remarried” divorcees. Pope Francis also appointed him as grand chancellor of the Pontifical Pope John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, traditionally a bulwark of sound moral teaching based on St. John Paul II’s writings and teachings.

Archbishop Paglia published a book between the two synods suggesting opening the door to Communion for “remarried” divorcees. It was titled “Family and Church: an indissoluble bond.” He also invited homosexual couples to the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in 2015.

“As President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, I urge you to deal with the new challenges concerning the value of life,” the Pope told Paglia in his letter of appointment. Here Pope Francis also pointed out that “human ecology” needs more emphasis and that it “helps to restore the original balance of creation between the human person and the whole universe.”

The re-population of Vatican Dicasteries is nothing new in the Pontificate of Pope Francis. Only recently Cardinal Sarah’s Congregation for Divine Worship received an overhaul, and Cardinal Müller was ordered to dismiss three priests from his Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Pope Orders Purge of Freemasons from Knights of Malta*

Pope Orders Purge of Freemasons from Knights of Malta*

Some call the Freemasons a Jewish Luciferian cult, a religion of Judaism, based on the Babylonian Talmud, and the Jewish Kabala, an alchemical system of magic and deviltry, which form the basis for the Scottish Rite’s 33 ritual degree ceremonies. The freemasons are basically a warped, rogue community which took spiritual teachings meant for good and turned them to evil – the classic archetype which most can relate to being Darth Vadar – a ‘high priest” which sold his soul to evil and now is part-man, part machine, dying inside his own mask.

The Knights of Malta, some attest, are not an arm of the cabal, but another secret society. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is a lay religious organization headquartered in Rome dating back to the First Crusade. They too have a bloody and questionable history. They were Christian crusaders who believed that bloodshed was necessary to ‘convert’ the evil. Funny then, that Pope Francis has ordered a purge of the Freemasons from the Knights of Malta. Which should truly be purged from the other?

The Holy Father instructed Cardinal Burke to “clean out” Freemasonry from the order. He is “deeply disturbed” by the fact that the Knights of Malta were handing out contraceptives in parts of Africa, according to Vatican journalist Edward Pentin.

The current wrangle centres around what Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin has described as an unprecedented crisis.” It first became public after the grand master of the Knights of Malta, Fra’ Matthew Festing, dismissed Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager as grand chancellor (the order’s third-ranking official) on Dec. 6, accusing him of being ultimately responsible for the distribution of contraceptives through the order’s humanitarian agency, Malteser International.

His insubordination has been called disgraceful”. The Vatican church teaches that the use of condoms is gravely immoral and the Knights of Malta have been passing them out to “protect against HIV” and other sexually transmitted diseases.

According to the Vatican’s semi-official newspaper, proponents of euthanasia and aborting chronically ill foetuses use the same arguments that were once used by the Nazis to promote their eugenics program of mass extermination; and indeed the eugenics movement is epitomized in forced sterilizations of women who were institutionalized in some way. Many state laws permitted this, and a landmark Supreme Court case, Buck v. Bell in 1927, ratified those laws; however, a United Nations WHO file suggests a dual purpose for Vatican supported vaccines.

A file titled Global Vaccine Market Features and Trends reveals incriminating evidence and financial motive for Vatican UN WHO criminal acts of terrorism, bioterrorism, mass murder and genocide. Almost every single person on earth would have to be vaccinated in order for the financial goals set forth by the Vatican in this document, to come to fruition.

While the Knights of Malta are no saints, purging their own Cardinals might be a better idea if the Vatican is truly trying to stop a eugenics movement, and prevent child harm.

Or is Pope Francis, linked to child sex trafficking, rape, and murder concerned about another outcome? His authority is now being challenged by the Knights of Malta over his sacking of a Catholic official.

As some experts are wise to point out, most fraternal societies are in-between good and evil, but all feed the same impulses as in Masonry: including knowing and holding secrets.

To say that the Vatican has a difficult relationship with the Knights (of Malta, Templar or otherwise) is a big understatement. The Knights were the crusaders and first international banking powerhouse in Europe – some say the seed of the modern Federal Reserve, and fractional banking system. After losing the Holy Land, they still held on to wealth and power.

Renegade Catholic explains, that this beef likely has much older roots,

“Only recently on the 700th anniversary did the Vatican belatedly let [the Templar Knights] off the hook, publishing a book with documents absolving them of heresy. Emboldened, a group claiming to be heirs then sued the Vatican for $150 billion. They later also demanded an apology.”

The Vatican laughed all this off, but it turns out the Templars’ great rivals were another order sworn to protect pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land: The Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem, now known as the Knights of Malta. They were actually founded before the Templars.

A little cabal infighting? Seems so.

By Alcuin Bramerton

On Tuesday 6th December 2016, Albrecht von Boeselager(Germany) was sacked from his position as Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Malta. This was in direct defiance of the clearly-stated wishes of the Pope and the Vatican.

The Knights of Malta are Roman Catholicism’s oldest military and chivalric Order, dating from the eleventh century CE. The full name they give themselves is The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta.

Boeselager’s dismissal was the result of a conspiracy between the Grand Master of the Order, Matthew Festing (England), and Cardinal Raymond Burke (USA).

The row was presented as having something to do with the distribution of condoms in Africa and Myanmar. It was nothing of the sort. It was an engineered end-time row about conservative spiritual fascism (Festing and Burke) versus liberal and compassionate pastoral policy (the Pope) within Roman Churchianity.

Festing and Burke pretended that Boeselager’s sacking was in accordance with the wishes of the Holy See (Pope + Vatican). Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, wrote to Festing clarifying that the Pope did not want Boeselager sacked

Because the Pope’s wishes were countermanded, the Vatican set up a formal investigation into the Knights of Malta. This investigation was led by Archbishop Silvano Tomasi who had a team of four people to assist him with his enquiries: Gianfranco Ghirlanda (former rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University), Marc Odendall (investment banker), Jacques de Liedekerke (lawyer) and Marwan Sehnaoui(President of the Order of Malta in Lebanon).

Matthew Festing told the Pope that the sacking of Boeselager was an internal matter for the Knights of Malta. The Vatican had no right to interfere because the Knights of Malta were a sovereign entity.

Festing was talking nonsense. The Knights of Malta is a Catholic religious Order. The leaders of that Order had each taken solemn religious vows to obey the Pope. The sacking of Boeselager was a naked act of disobedience. The Vatican had every right, after an investigation, to issue a ruling and define a remedy.

For the first three weeks of January 2017, Festing persisted in his view that a papal investigation into the matter was unwarranted. A new compliant placeman, John Critien, was installed as Grand Chancellor by Festing and Burke. Critien wrote to the Order’s membership telling them that they could not collaborate with the Pope’s investigation because it was judicially irrelevant. No member of the Order could give evidence which contradicted Festing’s decision to sack Boeselager.

Critien, like Festing, was talking nonsense. The issue of Boeselager’s sacking and the Vatican’s consequent investigation into that act was not about the sovereignty of the Knights of Malta; it was about disobeying the Pope and the Holy See.

At that time, exactly what the Vatican would decide to do was not immediately clear. There seemed to be five main possibilities:

(1) Do nothing. Sweep the whole thing under the carpet. Justify this on pastoral grounds by talking about a need to move on and allowing proper time for the healing of wounds. Forgive Boeselager and offer him a spectacular promotion elsewhere.

(2) Sack and/or excommunicate Festing and Critien. Move Burke to a sinecure elsewhere. Reinstate Boeselager.

(3) Sack and/or excommunicate Festing, Critien and every senior First Class Knight who supported them. Move Burke. Reinstate Boeselager.

(4) Dispense Festing, Critien and all their First Class allies from their religious vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. As many as thirty individuals might be involved. According to the Order’s rules, these thirty could not then continue in leadership placements because in Canon Law they would no longer be solemnly professed religious. Move Burke. Reinstate Boeselager.

(5) Appoint an external commissioner over the heads of Festing and Burke. Vatican takes control of every aspect of the Order’s administration, including appointments, management, documents, website, buildings, lands, treasure, finance and Constitution. Reinstate Boeselager. Express disappointment at the mass resignations from the Order which would follow this course. If Burke doesn’t resign, move him.

In the event, on Tuesday 24th January 2017, Matthew Festing had a meeting with the Pope. After this meeting he was asked to resign. Burke spent nearly an hour trying to dissuade him. Festing, however, did resign. There was deep dissatisfaction inside the Order with his leadership.

His resignation was formally accepted by the Sovereign Council of the Knights of Malta on Saturday 28th January 2017. During that meeting, Matthew Festing was heard to describe the Pope as his enemy.

In the view of many in the Order, Festing had become an anachronistic anti-Papal nuisance, hankering after a quaint return to 1950s-style Catholicism, the old rite Latin Mass and top-down autocratic leadership.

Matthew Festing’s interim replacement as Grand Master of the Knights of Malta was Ludwig Hoffmann-Rumerstein (Austria). Albrecht von Boeselager was reinstated as Grand Chancellor.

At the time of Festing’s resignation, the Pope also appointed a pontifical delegate for the Knights of Malta, who would act above and over the head of Raymond Burke as the Order’s chief liaison with the Holy See. Burke was still technically in office as patron of the Order, but was out of power.

The name of the pontifical delegate was not made public until Saturday 4th February 2017, when it became clear that Archbishop Giovanni Becciu had been designated. He was to be the Pope’s sole spokesman on all matters to do with the Knights of Malta. Beccui was also charged with the task of overseeing a moral and spiritual renewal of the Order with a special focus on the fully-professed knights such as Festing and Critien.

Within the Knights of Malta, there are only 55 fully-professed knights out of a total worldwide membership of 13,500. In recent times the impression has been given that this élite group has been using the charitable work of the Order as an expedient cover for geopolitical machinations and forced influence. Such behaviour seems to be signally at odds with the spiritual emphases of the group’s religious vows to obey the Pope. It also appears to be manifestly out of harmony with the culture of the lay majority in the organisation who do the visible public work.

A senior Knights of Malta insider, Erich Lobkowicz (Germany), said that the row had  been a battle between all that Pope Francis stood for and a tiny clique of ultraconservative frilly old diehards in the Church; diehards who had missed the train in every conceivable respect.

The Pope himself was known to be wary of Catholic chivalric orders, which he worried could show signs of profligacy and spiritual worldliness. And the Knights of Malta, in particular, badly mishandled a child sex abuse scandal when Matthew Festing was in charge of the Order.

The Pope-given task of the newly-imposed pontifical delegate was to work closely with Ludwig Hoffmann-Rumerstein to ensure a spiritual and moral renewal of the Knights of Malta. Under Burke and Festing, spiritual formation processes for the fully-professed Knights had been insufficiently robust.

More Knights of Malta news background can be found here (04.01.17), here (05.01.17), here (09.01.17), here (10.01.17), here (12.01.17), here (13.01.17),  here (16.01.17), here (17.01.17), here (25.01.17), here (30.01.17), here (03.02.17), here (04.02.17) and here(06.02.17).

There is, of course, a bigger picture on the reverse of this élite public portrait. It is an occult image. In attempting to block the gold-backed benevolence of the Asia-led global currency resets and their associated humanitarian and prosperity funds, the Order has hazarded its own survival.

At this fast-moving end-time moment, the Knights of Malta find themselves frozen on the wrong side of history, slow-cursed by ancient documents they can’t control. The more percipient among them will be aware of two geopolitical certainties: (1) Books will be opened; (2) The old centre cannot hold.

Climate of Fear in Vatican is very Real*

Climate of Fear in Vatican is very Real*

By Steve Jalsevac

Our Nov. 16-23 visit to Rome was the most dramatic of many such twice-per-year work trips we have taken there during the past 10 years. After meeting with cardinals, bishops and other Vatican agency and dicastery staff, John-Henry Westen, our new Rome reporter, Jan Bentz, and I saw a consistent pattern of widespread anxiety and very real fear among faithful Church servants. We have never encountered this before.

Many were afraid of being removed from their positions, fired from their jobs in Vatican agencies or of encountering severe public or private reprimands and personal accusations from those around the pope or even from Francis himself. They are also fearful and anxious about the great damage being done to the Church and being helpless to stop it.

Near the end of our visit, one very high-level cleric confirmed our observations. He added,

“One can sense the fear. It is tangible.”

Another, who has always been willing to discuss difficult situations, immediately told us that he would not talk, even off the record, in confidence, about any of the current controversies. We were told not to ask him any questions about these things. By the end of that visit we were able to broach one of the controversies and the important information unknown to him was appreciated.

From left to right, LifeSite Editor-in-Chief/co-founder John-Henry Westen, Rome correspondent Jan Bentz and LifeSite president/co-founder Steve Jalsevac during Nov. 16-23 visit to Rome. St. Peter’s is in background.

The release of the dubia letter by the now known to be six brave cardinals, quietly supported by at least 20 to 30 other cardinals, has clearly sparked a heightened atmosphere of intimidation and fear in the Vatican.

On Nov. 23 LSN journalist Pete Baklinski reported that Bishop Athanasius Schneider said he had “great astonishment” for what he called the “unusually violent and intolerant” nature of the backlash, adding that such reaction runs contrary to the Pope’s call for “dialogue and acceptance of a legitimate plurality of opinions.”

The Francis papacy has created a radically different climate in Rome from that of Pope St. John Paul II and Benedict XVI, under whom Rome was a vastly more welcoming place for Catholic Culture of Life warriors such as ourselves.

Another Nov. 23 story reported that Cardinals Burke and Pell were officially removed from the Congregation for Divine Worship and that “the office’s membership was recently gutted, with numerous progressives appointed as replacements.” This has effectively left the strongly orthodox Cardinal Sarah, the congregation’s head, a neutralized, silenced figurehead.

Cardinal Ouellet, head of the Congregation of Bishops, has also been left with little real authority, with progressive, Francis-appointed underlings now having the greater say on who becomes a bishop. The bishops being appointed now are generally tending to be of the most radically liberal views, such as now Cardinals Cupich and Farell and San Diego Bishop Robert McElroy. And of course, Cardinal Pell has been prevented from continuing his greatly needed reforms of Vatican financial institutions and procedures still rife with corruption (that information comes from an impeccable source).

The Academy for Life, originally personally founded by Pope St. John Paul II and the also saintly Dr. Jerome Lejeune, has been drastically changed and Kasperite bishop,  Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, has been chosen by Pope Francis to be the new head.

The original requirement by St. John Paul II and Dr Lejeune that members must sign a declaration that they uphold the Church’s pro-life teachings has been removed, the mandate of the Academy has been changed to a seamless-garment type that will now include a focus on the environment. The life-long memberships of the many distinguished original members of the Academy have been revoked. It is likely no coincidence that this was done considering that a significant number of those original members, dear friends of John Paul II and Dr Lejeune, have been among the severest and more capable lay critics of Pope Francis.

Claire Chretien reported on Nov. 23 that Pope Francis has praised the 1960s German moral theologian Bernard Häring, one of the most prominent dissenters from Pope Paul VI’s 1968 encyclical Humanae Vitae, for his new morality, which the pope said helped “moral theology to flourish.”

Can you imagine the impact of that act by Francis on all those in the Vatican curia and agencies, and on pastors around the world, who were all taught to strongly defend Humanae Vitae by St. Pope John Paul II and Benedict? What will happen to them now, in the current climate of severe intimidation, if they continue what was natural to them for decades in union with the Catholic magisterial teaching on the issue of contraception – teaching going back to the very beginning of the Church?

In his editorial in the upcoming December issue of LifeSite’s Faithful Insight magazine, John-Henry Westen relates more of what we discovered.

“… Catholic universities in Rome are watched and professors’ lectures screened to ensure they fall in line with a liberal interpretation of Amoris Laetitia. Clerics are reported to superiors if they are overheard expressing concerns about Pope Francis. Many are afraid to speak openly, even though in the past they were always very willing. Vatican reporters told us they were warned numerous times not to report on the dubia.”

It is as though Catholic Rome has turned into a type of Church police state because of what is seen to be a great threat from the dubia letter to certain agendas.

In a December 13 article on OnePeterFive, Vatican commentator Maike Hickson stated,

“I have heard reports that the Vatican is like an occupied state. Certain sources I’ve spoken with have a fear that communications with Vatican officials are being monitored; some have even reported suspicious anomalies in their telephone conversations in which, after a dropped call, the audio of the last moments of their conversation has played over and over again on a loop, as though they are hearing a recording. Some individuals who work within the Vatican are advising their contacts on the outside not to share sensitive information via email or their Vatican-issued cell phones. [emphasis added]”

Hickson goes on to quote respected Vatican correspondent Ed Pentin’s response to a question in an extensive interview in Reginamag.com titled, “Is there a reign of terror in the Vatican?” Pentin responded,

“The Pope’s reaction, of going so far as to question the [four] cardinals’ mental state, has been read as a manifestation of his own anger at having his agenda taken off course. And instead of taking the four cardinals at their word (they have said they are acting primarily out of charity towards the Holy Father, justice and deep pastoral concern), they are seen as adversaries. I understand he has also been working behind the scenes to ensure his agenda is not thwarted. From strategically placed articles in L’Osservatore Romano to equivocations from those who publicly criticized the dubia when asked if the Pope had asked them to do so, Francis has been acting, as one observer put it, like a “behind-the-scenes political lobbyist.” In the three weeks after the dubia were published, the Pope gave three interviews to the world’s media, each of them aimed at legitimizing his position while denigrating his critics.

Lastly, it’s important to point out that simply by matching facts with words coming from the Pope and his allies, it’s clear there is significant lying and deceit taking place, as well as calumnies and the besmirching of reputations of those labeled to be “on the right” just because they are publicly critical of Amoris Laetitia, or merely report on such criticism. It genuinely pains me to say all this, because as a Catholic journalist one doesn’t wish in any way to diminish the Petrine Office, but I feel I have an obligation to report the facts on what is happening. [my emphasis].”

These are strong words from this always top-notch Vatican reporter who is normally soft-spoken and very mild-mannered.

Pope Francis was mostly very sombre during the November consistory

In another LifeSite article, we reported Bishop Athanasius’ assessment of the deterioration of the situation in Rome,

“The reaction to the dubia is a proof of the climate in which we actually live in the Church right now,” Bishop Schneider said.

“We live in a climate of threats and of denial of dialogue towards a specific group.”

Schneider went on to say that “dialogue seems to be accepted only if you think like everyone else – that is practically like a regime.”

Schneider brought up his experience in Russia, where he was born in the time of the Soviet Union. His parents were sent by Stalin to work camps, or “Gulags,” after the Second World War.

“If you didn’t follow the line of the party, or you questioned it, you couldn’t even ask. That is for me a very clear parallel to what is happening now in the reactions to the dubia – questions – of the Cardinals.”

At a small press scrum with Cardinal Cupich at the North American College immediately after the consistory, there was an incident related to my question to Cupich on behalf of LifeSite.

After the newly installed cardinal’s unsatisfactory answers to two questions from Ed Pentin, I was given the nod. While briefly prefacing my question, I was suddenly harshly interrupted by a Vatican press official demanding, “Ask the question!” Considering that the preface was brief, the question was about to be asked and there were only a handful of media persons in the room, the interruption was totally uncalled for.

I immediately asked the question regarding the animosity that respectful questioners of Francis have been enduring and to which the cardinal astonishingly responded by denying any knowledge of such a thing occurring. Then, when John-Henry Westen put up his hand to ask a question, a spontaneous rule was announced by the press official. He refused to allow John-Henry’s question saying that only one question was permitted from each agency.

That sudden ruling caused an uncomfortable stir among the several other media representatives. Four in a row were now also not permitted to ask their questions because of the new rule. When the last one was denied, Cardinal Cupich said,

“Why not, since yours is a friendly question?” And so that softball question was permitted.

The growing hostility to faithful media who dare to simply question with respect the actions or statements of those around Pope Francis or of the pope himself was especially highlighted in a December 7 Reuters report.

Reuters stated, “Using precise psychological terms,” Pope Francis “said scandal-mongering media risked falling prey to coprophilia, or arousal from excrement, and consumers of these media risked coprophagia, or eating excrement.”

So now, if the translation is correct, as most of these usually are, if we dare to see and report what are obviously newsworthy developments that do not reflect well on the pope or his close collaborators, we are “scandal-mongering,” “eating excrement” and being sexually aroused by this excrement of reporting uncomfortable truth.

How can a pope, the Vicar of Christ, make such vile accusations? Whatever happened to, “Who am I to judge?”

This article could go on and on, with many more examples, such as our report that retired Roman Catholic Greek bishop Frangiskos Papamanolis ripped the four cardinals for committing the sins of “apostasy” and “scandal,” saying they receive Holy Communion “sacrilegiously” for raising concerns about the pope’s document. Then there was very liberal Cardinal Cupich’s response that the four holy cardinals are “in need of conversion”.

Every day it seems there is more and worse hostility being orchestrated against any who would dare to respectfully support the faithful dubia cardinals, who would dare to respectfully question statements and actions of Pope Francis, and who would dare to mention the crystal clear teachings of Christ’s moral absolutes, wonderfully and thoroughly expounded by Pope St. John Paul II in Familiaris Consortio and Veritatis Splendor.

We have to wonder where all of this is going. It is deeply, deeply concerning. The common phrase we kept hearing that week in Rome is that there is a “war” going on in the Church – a war of the “The Spirit of Vatican II” progressives against the orthodox Catholics. One person after another shockingly used that word.

I have never experienced anything like this in my lifetime and I am sure most, if not all regular LifeSite readers, can say the same thing.

Thunderstorm Asthma! What Is Really Going On?*

Thunderstorm Asthma! What Is Really Going On?*

By Stefan Stanford

Back in November 29th of 2013, France’s The Observers’ reported acid rain in Ahvaz, Iran had poisoned thousands of Iranians though the exact number was never found out because Iranian authorities imposed strict censorship upon hospitals there. One of the most polluted cities in the world, residents said “it’s like the city is cursed” after also suffering through 25 years of the horrors of war

Patients suffering from breathing problems had filled up emergency rooms for several weeks as more and more ‘acid rain’ fell on the city in western Iran. According to the local media there, more than 20,000 people were hospitalized over the month of November 2013 alone though the number could have been much higher.

While some said the town looked like some kind of nuclear wasteland, ANP finds it quite interesting that Ahvaz, Iran on November 2 of 2013 is listed by Wikipedia as being one of the very few locations across the world to have ever been struck by ‘thunderstorm asthma’, the ‘death hanging in the air’ that recently hospitalized nearly 10,000+ in Australia while killing at least 8.

With respiratory illnesses growing in Kyrgyzstan and across the world, ANP has been asked by several readers to take a new look at this mystery that has caught the world by surprise that JD Heyes over at Natural News recently called “Biological warfare-like ‘thunderstorm asthma’” along with several videos that ask what is really going on there? Interestingly, an outbreak of scurvy also recently hit Australia and may be moving on to New Zealand next. Much more on that in our next story.

According to Wikipedia, there have been 10 ‘significant events’ of thunderstorm asthma, however, they only date back to July 6th of 1983 in Birmingham, England. Australia has been struck 5 times while Naples, Italy and London, England were also hit. The most recent episode of thunderstorm asthma wasn’t even Australia, however, as on December 1st, the country of Kuwait was also hit leading to the deaths of 5, rounding out the 10 significant thunderstorm asthma events. Interestingly, Susan Duclos pointed out that 2016 is the only year that ‘thunderstorm asthma’ has hit twice.

Also according to Wikipedia, most of those affected by ‘thunderstorm asthma’ have NEVER had an asthma attack before. However, 95% of those that were affected by thunderstorm asthma had a history of hayfever, and 96% of those people had tested positive to grass pollen allergies, particularly rye grass.

According to this new story from Yahoo Australia, ‘thunderstorm asthma shows a worrying trend’. Struck by thunderstorm asthma back in 1987, 1989, 1997, and 2010 before the mass outbreak in November, authorities report there is a new thunderstorm asthma warning in effect for this weekend in certain parts of the country.

And while the recent thunderstorm asthma attack that struck Melbourne has been called the worst thunderstorm asthma attack to ever strike the world and Health Minister Jill Hennessy said it was like “having 150 bombs going off at once right across Melbourne”, the people we’ve communicated with from Australia as well as each of the videographers below aren’t buying the official explanation.

Going back to the 2013 story from France’s Observers, according to Iran’s Pulse news, Khuzestan’s environmental protection officer blamed ‘acid rain’ on high concentrations of nitrates in the air. Keep in mind the Wikipedia report that Ahvaz also suffered from one of the most significant cases of ‘thunderstorm asthma’ during this exact same time period.

The weather has always been awful in Ahvaz, for as long as I can remember. But it gets worse every year. This year, we had dust storms and, more recently, acid rain that has caused people to become sick. Last time it fell, I had to go to hospital because I had trouble breathing. The people that took care of me didn’t really know what to do. The nurses just gave me medication and put me on respiratory support. It cost me 100,000 tomans (about 30 euros). There were many people, mainly children and older people, and the medical personnel looked overwhelmed. After an hour or two, I was able to go home.

Last Wednesday, a new round of acid rain caused many people to get sick. According to what I heard, thousands went to the hospital. Those people who protested against the dam on the Karun River now intend to protest against the pollution and the unbearable living conditions that cause Ahvaz to resemble a ghost town. Indeed, it looks like some kind of nuclear wasteland.

In the videos below, our videographers ask what is ‘thunderstorm asthma’ and ask what really is going on in Australia as the death toll rose again and as our videographer asks in the final video below, is thunderstorm asthma really some kind of bio-warfare or attack? Were places like Ahvaz, Iran used as testing grounds for some kind of deadly chemical/biological weapons? And might all of this be some sick part of the globalists depopulation agenda?

And were chemtrails involved in the illnesses as has been suggested by some living in Australia who had reported being heavily chemtrailed in the days prior? As Steve Quayle warned us long ago in his book, ‘Weather Warfare and Other Un-Natural Disasters,’ weather warfare IS real…are we now witnessing some kind of it dating back to 1983?

For those concerned, an interesting website called ‘Flu Trackers’ uses data from journalists, citizens and other news sources from all around the world compiled in a forum form.
