Potassium – is an essential mineral that helps the body to regulate the acid-alkaline balance. It is an electrolyte mineral that conducts needed electricity in the body for the transmission that takes place in the nervous system. Potassium lowers the risk of high blood pressure, is important to the regulation of the kidneys, muscle contraction including the heart, nerve insulation, and the regulation of physical growth.
Symptoms of deficiency include low intake of water, constipation, cardiac arrest, nervousness/excitability, confusion, insomnia, a slow heart rate, digestive malfunction, general weakness, and dry skin.
It is best taken with sodium.
